Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa County Fl guys
Hey, everyone from Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa County.
Below is a fundraiser the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post is hosting. I'm one of the post advisors and helping to coordinate the fundraiser. basically u sign up, pay for ur ticket and get to spend the night in jail. We'll have some demo's through the night (restaint chair, cell extractions, k9, seat belt convincer, etc...). Kinda cool if you've never been to jail and want to see what its all about. You will go through a quick booking process (photo and all), get assigned a bed, get a "jail" dinner and brekfast, there will be other food items for sale if you want more, as well as some explorer stuff for sale as well. Everyone will get their booking photo and fingerprints b4 they leave to take home.
If you are interested let me know (just shoot me a PM) or call the Sheriff's Office directly. This is set for Aug. 14th. If you dont want to attend, but would like to make a donation, that would be fine as well. THANKS!!
JAIL BREAK IN
Sheriff Hall, the Santa Rosa County Explorer Post, is hosting a fundraising event to celebrate the completion of the new Santa Rosa County Jail expansion project. The wing is expected to start housing inmates in September 2010.
The fundraising event called “Jail Break In 2010” will take place on August 14, 2010 from 1800 hours to 0700 hours. This event is open to all ages (details below). All participants will receive a very realistic experience as to what jail is like; however they will be able to experience it in a never been used facility and under much better circumstances. Participants will be “booked” into the jail and be searched, fingerprinted, and photographed. They will then be assigned a bed and be instructed as to what will be expected of them during their stay. This will be a very educational experience as to how things are handled inside a detention facility.
The “inmates” will receive food when they arrive and around 0500 hours. If the “inmates” aren't pleased with the food that is provided, they can feel free to use the Explorer Post's “commissary” to purchase additional items. All “inmates” will be expected to abide by the rules and regulations that are set forth. All “inmates” will also be required to stay “in custody” until 0700 hours unless an emergency arises prior to their release time. Upon release, the “inmates” will receive their booking photograph and fingerprints as a souvenir.
Space is limited to the first 128 people who purchase tickets. Ages 12 and over are welcome; however any juveniles will be required to be with a parent or legal guardian. At the time of ticket purchase, the purchaser will be required to provide identification information so that the Sheriff's Office can due a preliminary screening of participants to ensure a safe, secure and educational experience. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults- $20.00 Children under 18- $10.00 Seniors- $15.00.
Tickets become available beginning Monday, August 2nd , 2010 .
Tickets can also be purchased at the main Sheriff's Office in East Milton . More details and requirements will be posted on our website on Monday, August 2 nd , 2010 .
