Charlotte locals, need suggestions on finding a part time job

hey guys, just to give you a quick rundown of my situation (its ramblings so hell ill ramble on)
i was down in charlotte last fall for school, then things happened in my life that caused me to take a semester off and i ended up living in wake forest, nc for 4 months, then moved home to nj for 4 months, but now i am FINALLY back on track with my life and am back in charlotte for school!

anyway, due to my 4 day a week school schedule i am having trouble finding a place that will hire me for fridays and saturdays, and the occasional sundays. (my school schedule is spread out throughout the days so a shift before or after class is basically a no go.)

it sucks, because im living off the money i made over the summer, and now that im all settled down with moving and starting class i need to start earning income. it seems nobody wants a part time weekend person.

ive applied at the usual places (grocery stores, retail, etc. ) no such luck. id prefer not work work in a restaurant. i have only been here 2 weeks, but im feeling the pressure and im not too keen on running to my family for pocket money. (they pay my tuition already). so basically im just asking for locals to the area if anyone has a suggestion maybe a place ive never heard of, i would appreciate the help.

I go to UNC Charlotte so i live within that area.

Better to post in the REGIONS section. There is a significant Charlotte Area thread there, so perhaps a post there will get some response.

On second thought, I'll quote you and link to your (moved) thread.

I hear on not wanting to work in a restaurant (I did myself in high school), but given when you want to work, a restaurant would be a perfect fit. Beyond that, the typical retail stores...Best Buy, Harris Teeter, movie theater, cell phone store, anything at the mall, etc. A friend of mine works just weekends at Lowes...you could try both them and Home Depot.

Also, have you considered an on-campus job? Those can give you shifts between and around your classes, and are within walking distance.

My son had a on campus job and that seemed to work well for him. Good luck in your search. How about a pub or club? Most don't open til late and are busy on weekends where they need the extra help.

I know the car wash on E74 right across from the Audi dealer is hiring right now. If your going towards downtown, it's on the right side next to Krispy Kreme.
