That is cool. Hopefully it is the 8th

That looks like a cool event you get to drive in.

I'll confirm and let you know.

I'm pretty psyched for tonight. It was a last minute team put together, but it's mostly guys I race with... so should be fun and hopefully we can be competitive. Honestly, I'm just thrilled to be in the same building as Richard Petty...

I once went to a Nascar race in ATL with my dad, and we had pit passes. Ended up seeing this guy he knew from way back who took us to a guy's RV for a cookout.

Well out from the RV walks Richard Petty (it was his). So we sat down with him, shot the breeze and ate lunch. It was pretty fun.

^ Yeah, turns out Richard Petty is an awesome dude. Got to hang out with him for like 20 minutes before the race. The kart we drew for the heat race just happened to be right where he was... so he just hung out with us. Total icing in the cake for the evening.

I talked to the guys at VLK and as you can imagine, it was crazy last night. But if you guys just want to do a show up and drive, I can probably get a small discount for you, but need a better idea on numbers. If you want to do it as an event with food and a racing format... I can talk to them about that as well. Saturday afternoon's can be busy, so keep that in mind if you're thinking arrive and drive.

Let me know

^ I'm usually in the mid to high 45's in the standard layout... low 45's when they run the track backwards. Have hit 44's in reverse layout... but that's rare.

BTW, here's a vid from The King's Cup from NASCAR.com. That's our team with The King around the 31 second mark. And the 20 kart they keep showing is our kart for the heat race (that was one of my teammates driving). Funny enough... the freeze frame of the vid is us too

Last time we were at VLK there was a girl there that kept putting down faster lap times than me and it was hurting my feelings. lol Her username was 'Speedy'. She was really fast.

Might go up there during the week to buy two get two free between 5 and 7.

Well apparently I am bad at keeping a calender of events. Earlier this week my dad called and asked me if I was still going to play in his fraternities annual golf outing with him next weekend which I had agreed to play in back in January. I couldn't really back out on my dad I would feel too bad. So I unfortunately get to drive all the way to PA and then to State College to play one round of golf next weekend. I am pretty bummed about it cause I was really looking forward to this meet.

I am going to continue help planning the meet here and keeping things up to date. I have talked to Tyler and he is going to take control and organize everything at the meet as far as getting everyone ready to leave and get to the next place all together.

Having me as meet leader isn't THAT bad is it?

All of you fuggers have the addresses so it's not like I have much to do anyway

My girlfriend has only missed 2 or 3 meets since I started attending almost 5 years ago. She especially loves the Charlotte ones but sadly won't be able to attend this one

Give your wife a camera so she can get rolling shots of everyone

Yeah, she's cool. She has won the Lightweight division in league several times. She was also nationally ranked for a while. So don't feel too bad. Her nickname is "Speedy" for a reason

Sorry to hear. Have fun at the tourney!

Tyler - Let me know in the next day or so what kind of setup you're looking for at VLK. If you're going to just do an arrive and drive, you guys will pretty much just show up and pay for the races. If you want it more organized (food with a racing format), you'll need to book that by Thurs. Either way, let me know and I'll place a call over there...
