7th Annual Dragon Run!!

Hello Acurazine!!

Last year was a great turnout. We had a couple people that drove in from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We had about 12 cars. Didn't surpass the attendance from the 4th annual run. It would be nice to have a bunch of TSXs or Hondas/Acuras running the dragon. But it seems hard enough just to get the meet together. So this is open to more than just Hondas/Acuras. We try to keep it imports only. I'm posting this early so everyone that wants to take part can have enough time to make the necessary plans needed. Let's make this year bigger than any others!!

The Tail of the Dragon is a section of US 129 a public highway. In the 11miles deemed "Tail of the Dragon" there are 318 turns. We gather as do many other groups throughout the year to enjoy the drive. WE DO NOT TOLERATE ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY. You can expect to see locals and state police while out there. If they don’t catch you, we will gladly ask you to leave.

Date: Oct 11th, 2014
Time: 11a - Lunch, 12p - Run!
Where: Hooters Alcoa, Tn
Address: 1094 Hunters Crossing

What I wouldn't give to have some roads like that in FL...would really bring a smile to my face to put the 6MT and SH-AWD to a true test! Highway on-ramps get old after a while, haha.

My friend and I went to visit the Dragon this past weekend. He chased me through the turns in a S2000.

This is his statement from the Facebook event page, "So I went for the 30 minute challenge. With that being said I have thirty minutes to pick the song, the clips, and edit the entire short in that amount of time. This isn't suppose to be my best work it was something to challenge my editing skills and improve myself while creating a teaser for the group."

Enjoy...(Watch in HD)

What I meant was, has anyone created a facebook event page yet? A group of us in Atlanta did blood mountain in GA and we had a great turnout of TLs and 1 TSX.

"In 2002 the speed limit was lowered to 30 mph, which is still in effect today. The North Carolina portion of the Dragon was lowered to 30 mph in early 2005."

Rubbish. What a shame. Would be sweet fun at a 45-55 limit.

When will the next one be? I just moved to charlotte and I've been dying to go. I would like to go with some other people who have been there before so I don't kill my self going too fast around the corners.

The meet is always held in October. An exact date hasn't been set up yet. The formal announcement will come out first of next year.
