The amp doesn't go into protect mode immediately. Some times it'll work fine my entire commute to work, others, as soon as any bit of bass kicks in, it's getting overloaded and goes into protect mode. I turned the gain on the sub down at the amp and so far...so good...but at the same time, it's not the same. I like my bass. lol.
I can semi control the sub gain from the screen. turning the sub completely off from the cabin/radio turns it down, but it doesn't completely kill the sub like the stock sub would.
We should be able to get it all worked out tomorrow and hopefully we'll get the it worked out to where I could listen to it prior to last weekend.

Lol....dang man yea sounds you got a leprechaun stuck somewhere. If you all do use a LOC you will have full control of the sub through the navi (you can turn the sub off also). Well I'm here if ya need me. Damn leprechauns....lol.

So we think it may have been a power issue. The power wire coming off the battery was REALLY loose and wasn't getting a proper connection. Played around with that and some of the other wires and hooked everything back up and it's been SOLID. Even feels stronger/louder/etc. than it did before. The power issue makes a lot of sense as well because there were a few times whilst turning left the stereo would cut out. Since the power wire was loose, it was coming out and losing power!
While we were in there, I built a cover for the amp to give the trunk a cleaner look:
Stereo progress!
What it's looked like since April. Not pretty, but functional:
Playing around with somd MDF:
Tossed some carpet over the MDF:
More complete:
All of these were taken with the phone. I'll get the D5100 out there and see what it can do. I'm very happy with the progress and Ryan Slade, as usual did some fantastic work in a short amount of time to get me fixed up!

Wow, love the clean setup man. Simple but very functional. I'm glad you all got it working. Haha....gotta love when it's a simple fix thats been messing everything up. I have my big ass box from my tl in my m45 and I can barely fit a half a cart of groceries....lol

thanks man! I tried keeping it simple, yet RIDICULOUS at the same time
The sub is Italian, front components are Swedish, and the amp is good ol' fashioned American. All high end stuff you won't really hear of, but is top notch quality.

I would double check the hub bore size on your GS. I know most Acura/Lexus have the same lug pattern 5x114.3 but most Acura hub bore sizes are 64.1mm. I think my 01 IS300 was smaller so they should fit, but but just wont be a "perfect fit." I ran my 07 TL-S wheels on my 01 IS300 with no issues but remember the IS300 hub was smaller.
Love the GS man. I sold my IS and almost picked up a GS400 platinum because I wanted that VIP setup. Ran a car fax and it had a salvaged title though...

lol discount? sure, just give me $20.00. I just picked them up last week for $30 but it pushed out my wheels to far and I didn't want to do any more fender work.

When do you want to test fit? I'm free maybe all week after 5
