It's actually a little out of your way to come to the Arboretum then go back to Freedom Park.
If there are going to be some people hooking up and driving down from the University area, that'd be more on the way.
Either way though. I'm sure there will be a "pre-meet" time and place posted up for the Arboretum before too long.
Here's a Google Map Link for the park location:

For the University pre-meet, I'm thinking the Harris Teeter across from the school.
Catch, depending on where you live, take Hwy 21 or 115 south to Harris Blvd, turn left and head to University City Blvd. Harris Teeter is on the corner.
Here is the address so you can Google it, 8600 University City Blvd 28213

Merge onto I-77 S via the ramp on the LEFT toward CHARLOTTE.
Merge onto I-85 N via EXIT 13A toward GREENSBORO.
Merge onto US-29 BYP N via EXIT 42 toward US-29/ NC-49.
Stay STRAIGHT to go onto N TRYON ST/ US-29 N/ NC-49 N. Continue to follow NC-49 N.
End at 8600 University City Blvd Charlotte, NC 28213-3540
^^Here is what came up, Sound Accurate? I am assuming the Harris Teeter is pretty noticeable and the school would be just the same. If so, what time at the school?

Better Map I did this from Hwy 73, not sure where you're coming from. If you want "landmarks" let me know
#217
Ok, well I am coming from Davidson College. The map you gave me seems pretty direct. Landmarks would be appreciated as I am not to familiar with NC yet.
At what time should we meet at the school to then head over to Freedom Park?

We're getting lots of rain so far this month. Hopefully the sun will shine for us for the 2 or 3 hours we'll be hanging loose.
Bearcat94, i'll bring some tools to get the job done.

Also, if you can, bring some pics of the cars at the AutoX (parked or running) on Sunday if you still have them. Not only mine, but others too. If you can get them on a memory stick, I'll transfer them to my laptop.
There's a thread in the CCR Forum for pics from the event.

While on Harris:
1. You'll cross I-85.
2. You'll go by an entrance to a shopping area on your left (Wal-Mart, Best Buy etc...)
3. Hospital on left, Walgreens on right (this is the corner of Tryon and Harris)
4. When you go through intersection Get in the lane that is second to left
5. You'll see a road that goes "up" to the right, then right after that a road that goes "down" to the right. This is Hwy 49 aka University City Blvd.
6. Take a left on University City (go under Harris Blvd) and Harris Teeter will be on your right

As of this morning, Larry Sprinkle says there is a 50% chance of rain on Saturday. Hopefully it's either over early or doesn't start till Sunday.

Well, given the latest news, there better not be one dirty car on Saturday. Thanks to the city spraying for canker worms, we can wash our cars for seven (7) days after the last day of spraying, which will be Thursday, weather permitting. That's an in-your-driveway-as-good-as-it-gets wash. On top of that, the meet is at 5:00, so wake your asses up and wash your cars! No excuses.
Me, I'm hoping spraying gets delayed a day or two this week to allow me to wash my car this week and next .

Actually, the majority of the spraying is in north and east Charlotte. But, the car washing is good for all of Charlotte. Got this from a FAQ in the paper yesterday:
Wow, just spent five minutes trying to find that on the Disturber's site...100 times more info than is warranted covering this. They want your pics of the planes flying over! WTF?!?! I suspect this will be the ONLY news in the paper and on TV all week. You'd think it was snowing or something.
And the best part? My car sits in west Charlotte all day while I'm at work, and they're not spraying here. No shit to get off, but I'll be washing it anyway .
Q. Will the spray ruin the paint on my vehicle?
No, say experts. It could make the vehicle sticky, much the same as tree sap. The city has loosened drought regulations against hand-washing vehicles the week of the spraying. Once the spraying starts, hand washing is allowed for seven days past the last day of spraying. If you live within the area being sprayed, experts advise you avoid washing your vehicle in advance.

They've been "buzzing" the area where I work all morning, up in the "research park" area.
I don't doubt that this will be bigger news than the Championship Game tonight

So, if it is raining, are we gonna post another date? I know I sound like a bitch but the weather can make or break just about anything in life. If we have enough time to get a rain date in now, there will still be a good turnout for the second date. I am in Orlando now and I am sick of the rain. Is that spraying of worms for the entire county? I am out of the loop as I have been in FL for the past four days.

1) Agree with Eric, if it rains, we go to the deck at CP.
2) Spraying - most of east and north Charlotte, a little of south Charlotte, and practically none of west Charlotte.
