Additional lenses are nice to have but if you're a casual photographer, the basic 18-55 kit lens will do just fine.

Pretty sure the two situations are about as far apart as you can get and I maintain the fact that it is a low blow.

First EVAR attempt using the sb600 off the camera and with the remote trigger.. I can't believe i just now learned how to do this lol..
Went out on the greenway to test my youtube lessons..
Now that i've finally learned how to do this, i'm going to go buy a soft box or umbrella, and possibly another strobe. The next test will be on a car.

Remote lighting is awesome I have been trying to tell you that. One of these days you should come up and we can experiment with 5 of them.

Damn, for the past week or so my friend has been trying to get me to buy a flash.
What I really want is that new A57 Sony is coming out with though.

I recommend everyone with a DSLR purchase an external flash. I feel like I'm going to be getting another one sometime soon and will sync them together.

So while washing the car yesterday I found two huge 2ft long scratch going down the center of my hood. One is deep and the other much lighter. They are about exactly 1.5in apart.
I have no idea what could have caused them. The dealer at one point had run my car through there auto wash when I told them not to but I don't remember finding anything when I picked the car up then. Problem is that it is so perfectly straight I don't know what else could have caused it other than an auto wash.
I use a water blade to clean the water off the car last night but I have never had one scratch the car before and wipe it off between every pass. Tried using scratch X to get it out and it worked as long as you are more than 3ft away but guess I am going to have to pay for a pro detail. Worried though cause it is deep enough that I can feel it with my fingernail.
Now I need to find someone that is an expert at paint correction locally and hopefully they can get it out for me as I really don't want to have the hood repainted.

Nothing wrong with mobile detailers as long as they know what theyre doing. Many members in the Wash & Wax forum are mobile detailers. Its their profession, and they take great pride and turn out great results.
EDIT- Just saw your second post
Jason - any pics of the scratches?

Burning Brakes
Ok, seeing as how this is a Charlotte thread, seems appropriate to ask my question here... have any of you used Freeman Car Stereo? If so, which location? Thoughts, suggestions?
After today's heat I have realized there is no way in hell I can go this summer without a remote start. I know CarMax would have brought it there to have it installed for me before purchasing the car however at that time I was not able to go without my car that day. They told me to bring it there directly, which I want to do since they outsource to them it will not void my warranty (I have 50,000 miles left until it expires).
Next question, is $300 alot for parts+install? ? Well its actually $330 with a trunk release on the key fob which I don't think I could go without either.
Help! Idk what the going rate is and I don't want to walk into the "female" scenario that alot of auto places are famous for :/

Do the NC custom plates really come with blue letters? I thought all NC plates had the ugly red letters now?
I will try and grab a pic today. They are a bit harder to see now that I worked them over with scratch x and three coats of wax so not sure how well they will show up in a pic. To the naked eye though they are definitely still there.
Oh and this rain needs to go away. I want to be able to enjoy a nice clean car for several days in a row.

The red letters came and went pretty quickly.
I know that when you get a custom plate that the letters are blue. Maybe new registered cars get red letters
