Sounds like this guy really needs a drink
I am hoping somewhat early yeah. I have to drive up to exit 18 to get Megan and then back down to TacoMac. Still hoping for like 4:15 though for sure. Want to get my drink on haha so Ican get to 125 for that mug and more free beer.

on that drive. Why is it she can't drive herself down?
125 is a long way off for me...only one solution to that
Whether she enters or not, they sound like worthwhile events to attend.

I don't think I will be able to attend if she is not participating. That would not go over well.

Middle Finger anyone?

Hey. I have a question for you guys. I am looking for the screen name someone that we've all met at some of the meets before. I think his name is Morgan and he drives the green TL. I also think he is in the army. Does anyone remember what his screen name is?
I want to PM him and ask him about the oil catch he had setup on his engine. If I remember correctly it was used to catch the excess oil vapor that would normally accumulate in the intake manifold. And he used some part from the lawnmower section at lowes to catch the oil vapor.

You're talking about Adrian:

Morgan is Civicdrivr with the 2G CL-S.

I did use the catch can thats for an air compressor though. Im not sure if Adrian is running a catch can.
If I were you though, Id get one of the catch cans off ebay. They sell for around $40, get the square one, not the round one, that way you can open it and stick some steel wool in there to catch the oil and hold onto it. I picked one up awhile ago but I still havent gotten around to installing it.
EDIT - This is the one I picked up. Its actually a pretty nice piece, I would run different hoses though.

Yeah. Sorry. I'm getting people confused. Been forever since I've seen anyone.
Morgan, can you tell me what that thing is called that you used from the air compressor?
I think it was Adrian who I was talking about. I remember that he had it connected to two long hoses and it sat next to his passenger side headlight. I'll PM him too.

I forget the exact name of it, but it mounts in the feed line for an air compressor and removes the water from the air.
It works well, but its too small so you have to keep an eye on it.

Saw a CBP TL-S heading south on Johnston Road in Charlotte yesterday, just after the 485 interchange, heading towards the shopping center with Pei Wei in it. Had red halos in the lights. Just checking to see if youre on here, if so your car is hot.

Here is the oil catch. $25 for everything. Mine didn't come with a little cap to go over the little vacuum port in the bottom of the bulb thingy so I just put a piece of vacuum line I had over that port and put a screw in the end to plug it. And I just used poor man's mounting technique with the zip ties. Now let's give it some time and see how much I can collect.

Sorry, I'm not very mechanically inclined, so what's the point of that catch can?

If you notice in the pic the hose goes from the valve cover to the intake. This has something to do with venting excess engine pressure back to the intake to equalize it. A by product of that is oil vapor that comes out of the valve cover and then gets sucked back into the engine and burnt off during the combustion cycle. But most just stays in the intake manifold.
This is kinda illegal because this is an emissions requirement. But it takes less than a minute to undo for inspections.

You should remove the little filter in there. Ive heard that some of the filters break down from the oil, and I wouldnt want that crap going into my engine.

Sooooooooooo my car won't blow up if I don't put on one of those oil catch cans will it? I want it to run until it dies.

Your car has gone 100k so far, so I dont think its a big deal for you.
Intercooled cars benefit more as oil getting into the intercooler essentially ruins it.

So yeah Jack I am so pissed I only now signed up online at tmbrew.com. You know that mobile crap I was talking about being able to search beers by brewery name or type and what not. Well they have a mobile version of the site in which you can do just that. Also while you are browsing it on the computer or mobile you can add beers to "My Fridge" which are things you are planning on trying so you remember them. Then you can go to the my fridge page on your phone. I wish I would have done this long ago.
I believe you now need to get a smart phone or a wifi enabled device so you can access yours at Taco Mac as well. Means we won't have to say we don't know yet as often

was thinking about an 07-08 honda fit sport auto. any thoughts/experiences? what are good sites to checkout for info/pics/mods?
i've driven an 07 fit sport 5spd and that lil sucker was a blast! def need a slushbox, though, with all the time i spend in the car
edit: i absolutely adore my 2001 subaru forester, but the lil fit makes more sense in terms of my driving style and lifestyle. plus, since i drive over 25k miles a year, the gas mileage is def a bonus. maybe i'll get a fit and keep the subie as well ...

Vinny check out fitfreak.com should be some good info on there. Also I know there is a Fit section on Honda-Tech but not sure how much it is used but might want to check it out as well.
No experience with them personally and don't know anyone with them but I will be interested to hear about your search and also experience with it if you chose to get one as if I keep with my long commute it might be a wise investment for me as well.

It sounds like there is more on the site than when I signed up...that or I didn't look around well enough back then. Still, think of the times we've mentioned this to the servers and none of them said "you can do that on the website". You would think training would cover this...maybe not for every customer, but definitely the ones you hand a long list to.
About mentioning it to the servers and them not saying anything, have you noticed how ditsy some of those chicks seem sometimes? Now the one really knowledgeable manager on the other hand is a different story.

OMG. I'm having bad flashbacks to when I owned a twin turbo stealth. Ran like shit. I take it apart and remove the intercoolers and each has 2-3 pints of oil sloshing around in them. That was a big moneypit nightmare. That happened because of all the blowby and crankcase presure blowing the oil back into the intake. And all that because the piston rings were fried in 5 of the 6 cylinders.

COLTS, thnx for the link! fit freak is far better than measly old honda-tech. not sure if u have a led foot or not, but the rpm's climb quickly in the fit above 70-75mph. so, if u do a lot of highway driving at speed, the noise may be a justifiable concern for u. i like it though =)
CHILL, i appreciate your style! however, after having owned several sports and luxury cars i feel no need to own another. i can make the fit more sprightly and fun than it all ready is quite easily and cld prob keep the forester for just the road trips and rock climbing. i may just trade it in though, even though there def several thousand miles left in her ...
edit: ideally, i'd save up for a few more months and buy the car cash AND have SEVERAL MODS laying around ready for install on day 1! that's how the godfather rolls hehe

Yes, wait a few months and do it right. No car payment is great and being able to get a few mods done right off the bat is always fun
