Steve's Tinting in Upland *Review* Lots of pictures
Hi guys, new here, looking to get to know everyone!
When I got my car at the beginning of this year, the first thing I wanted was tint, had it on my old car and a must for this one. I wanted to stay away from super dark tint and wanted the same all around, I hate the un even look of the front and rear windows when they don't match.
This thread is to hopefully save everyone the weeks of research I did before getting the right tint done at the right place.
I wanted the best heat rejection I can get while staying light, so right away I started searching for Huper Optik and FormulaOne Pinnacle. There was also Wincos but I didn't like the greenish hue it had to it, and I noticed this on the Huper Optik as well so naturally I went with the Pinnacle.
After much searching, out of all places I saw the Pinnacle+Clear bra offer that someone on AcuraZine got for everyone at Steve's Tinting when the 3rd gen TL's were coming out. I gave them a call and got a really good quote and took the one hour with traffic drive to them (I'm coming from Norwalk) Here comes the pictures!
Upon arrival at 2pm, I was greeted by Steve and pulled my car in right away:

Steve's shop is really clean and very organized. Has a three car indoor bay (it was raining that day, this was last Saturday) and both an indoor and outdoor waiting area.
He also had the full line of FormulaOne tint and DEI alarm products as well:

After choosing the shade/% I wanted:
Windshield: FormulaOne Pinnacle 50%
All side windows: FormulaOne Pinnacle 50%
Rear windshield: FormulaOne Pinnacle 40%
Steve was off to work right away with popping the top of the door panels and taking out the rubber molding/strip to put felt on it to prevent scratching of the tint:

The way Steve applied the felt was very nice! He didn't just stick if on the rubber one-sided like other places (which tends to leave goo on the windows on hot days), but he folded it over the whole thing, essentially applying the felt to both sides of the rubber that touches the glass (Sorry for the blurry picture):

Manny, the other installer, started the cutting and heat-shrinking of the windshield:

Computer cut patterns of all the other windows:

Pinnacle 50% windshield after it has been cut and heat-shrinked and ready for installation:

Tint on all doors were filed for that smooth OEM look with no light gap and yes their tint goes all the way on the rear quarter glass

That Tundra next to mine got Pinnacle 5% all around:

I didn't get any more shots of my car finished at Steve's shop, but I ended up leaving around 5:10pm or so, they close at 5pm Saturday, it was also raining so I didn't get any out in the sun shots.
For the next couple of days, I took my car out the garage every morning to bask in the sun (Note, my white balance was thrown off between the green grass and blue skies, the windows in person are gray/charcoal and not greenish as it shows in these pictures):

Here's how it looks looking in on a sunny day:

I do have some bubbles on the rear driver side window and some marks on my front windshield, but it's only been a couple of days and each day it looks like it's going away more, so I'll keep everyone updated on it.
Overall I am more than happy with both the service from Steve's Tinting and the look of the film and the heat rejection from the Pinnacle tint. So for those that just got their TL's like me or have had it and looking to get tint, I highly recommend Steve's Tinting. Steve and Manny are very nice guys and took great care of my car the whole time, all work is backed by a lifetime warranty as well.
I hope this helped someone and let me know if you guys have any questions!

that looks great!
i went to the same place this past tuesday.
i got F1 Pinnacle 35% on the sides and 30% on the rear on my NBP TSX.
i only have one small crease on the corner of one of the windows. hopefully it goes away in the next few days. if not, i'll just take it back and have it redone. this rain sucks...i wish it was sunny to help it cure.
location is in Upland on the intersection of Foothill & Central on the side of the 76 gas station.
