you can pass with a modify exhaust. unless you have non CARB headers, intake, and no Cats.

 

there is this building split into multiple garages/shops and there is only 1 guy who i know will pass you. I took a 740li that was spewing out smog and blue smoke (burning engine oil) and the guy still passed me. then i took my TL shortly with dynomax resonator and magnaflow mufflers and he passed me too

DC headers are CARB legal. Also, the intake might be too, depending which one you have and if you have the EO number on it. If you don't have a cat, your check engine light might be on and will cause an automatic fail, unless you have a straight pipe with a defouler.

Speaking of smog, has anyone gone through the "new" smog? They're not supposed to require a tailpipe test anymore (2000+ models), just OBD and visual. It was supposed to begin rollout last year.
