Your sub is fine, it's your amp. 8 ga wire will handle my amp and I know my amp has more power than yours.

I'm running 0 gauge too but it was leftover wire from an older more powerful system.

Ryan what I would do:

Whatever amount that sub you're thinking of buying, ask your mom for that money. Put it towards a JL 250/1, it can be had for ~$250.

we will see... ive always wanted an orion...need more boom...if it turns out to be the amp then ill upgrade the amp to fit the orion/pg...flat out powered right the infinty doesnt have enough boom for my tastes...

and you would run 8awg on ur system? that would rob power clarity/safety

ill run the infinty on my friends amp(kenwood) and see how that goes..

Ryan your amp does not put out enough to warrant a wire upgrade. Just because it says 1000W peak does not mean anything. Your probably more in the realm of 100W.

My nephew had your sub and it gave me concussion when he was bumping it in his Eclipse.

some website tested the orion hcca against kicker/JL/MTX and the orion came out on top... the other actually seized. orion makes a quality sub

You should hook it up to Tim's JL.

Kenwood is not known for their amps.
