maybe a long shot but does anyone have experience putting in tein suspension? I don't mind doing it myself but I just recently moved into a tiny apartment in North Park with no garage. Anyone have a garage and tools I can use? I will buy multiple cold ones. Some good conversations, vibes and laughs over some beer while working on cars. Sounds creepy I know but any help would be appreciated. I'd also pay $75 bucks on top of beer for this. All these shops want over $300 bucks that I can't afford. I'm just tired of looking at the green beauty that sits in my living room. Can't wait to put these suckers in. We can also do an updated DIY with all the knacks in it as well and try to make it into the GARAGE!!! no pun intended. Thanks in advance!

Hey check out my thread regarding mechanics in SD area. Ty Tipton is great. If you want it done for cheap in North Park I have a good mechanic here. I am between North and South Park

Purportedly cleaning the outside of our radiators (film and gunk) and air coils adds smoother A/C and some even say horsepower!

Anyone want to combine efforts/moral/immoral support and do this?

The horsepower power mentioned in the thread is red text, so it was meant to be sarcastic. Not sure if you caught that. However, it should help to make the A/C run more effectively, but I don't think you're TL has accumulated that much gunk on the radiators and air coils. Doesn't hurt to keep things nice and fresh.

No i actually thought the poster was saying it did bump his hp 5%.
I've got an 01 CLS with 145,000 so it's got enough gunk to warrant a cleaning. I just need to know exactly where to spray/not spray and which direction to spray. I was told only spray one way (into one side of the rad). Plus getting the bumper off.....

I'd like to score one of these used as i can't see how a "used" bar is much different from a new one.

*As much as Ty knows about mechanics, he knows struts fwds backwords and sideways as he told me he worked at a shock place for years, saw it all 1st hand. (Separately from the dealership). Ty's got some definite thoughts on struts for our Acs in case any of you are considering...

Wo! What?! Is Ty back in the loop, John? Last time I heard he was having some health issues. And that was quite a while back.

I hope he's doing better. That is one knowledgeable, helpful dude.

Hey guys,

So, as many of you know .. I totaled my Accord roughly 3 weeks ago and have been on quite a rollercoaster ride finding a new car.

I've thrown around the idea of financing something that's around $16 - $18k but I quickly realized throwing myself in that kind of debt is not what I wanted. I got the idea of shopping around for cars in the 4-6k range .. but found nothing but garbage with sketchy owners trying to tell me what the car is when it clearly wasn't ..

I testdrove anything from E30 BMW 325is, Mustang GTs, few older Civics & Accords ... nothing I liked.

I was searching for cars on Autotrader and found a beautiful one owner 2005 Altima SE-R 6MT w/ 90k miles. Car is located about 5 miles away from me with no dings, no rips, scratches, everything cosmetic is in perfect condition. Everything works, just needs 2 new front tires and maybe a slight alignment. I can tell it was garage kept and really taken care of judging by the condition of the car and having all service receipts.

After agreeing on a price of $11,500, I couldn't resist and put a deposit down. If all goes as planned, I pick it up tomorrow at 10am.

Has:

Mossy exhaust, lightweight flywheel & new clutch, Nismo suspension & wheels and he's throwing in an extra set of SE-R wheels & Nismo Intake.

Yeah, I spun out out and essentially played pinball on the onramp walls .. car was declared totaled. Cars are just cars .. live and learn.

If anybody is interested, there's a local car meet in Encinitas at Wahoos Tacos every Thursday night starting at around 7 - 7:30pm.

It's called "Tacos and Tuners".

If anybody is down to cruise, I'll be there tonight at 7:30pm with a few buds. I'll be in the SE-R .

Text me at 76zero8zero35388 if you want the address.

In the You Guys Probably Already Knew This 6 Years Ago Dept.......

Anyway for me today:
per Ty Tiptons suggestion installed Eibach front anti roll bar.

Immediate results! Excellent! Way better on curves and tighter steering all the time.

Have any of you SD people replaced your motor mounts and if so did you simply use OEM?

Ty Tip' advises to also look at (we're not sure of exact name at this moment in time but something like....):
motor torque mount
motor torque
torque rod
tork shock

This gizmo bolts on the shock tower and keeps the motor from jumping around. Ty advises sometime we may think the motor mounts are bad but really its more this gizmo.

^^ Update: Kearney Mesa dealership parts Jim is quite sure this gizmo is not on our 2Gens. It's possible Ty was thinking of another Honda/Ac or maybe 1st gen. Thank you.
