Los Angeles Driving - Mileage?

Just bought an '05 TL White

Was Curious. .

The 3G mpg thread has mileage all over the place,

But

Los Angeles SoCal driving is not normal, correct?

So, What MPG are you getting on average if you're in the LA or San Diego City Area.

My Trip Meter shows:

avg MPG: 18
avg Speed: 18mph

And this is while I'm driving like a turtle, light light foot. 65mph freeway.

How about you?

I get around 20mpg usually. My driving consists of mostly city, stop and go traffic, and of course my lead foot moments. Highway and conservative driving will yeild 28-30mpg, but that is pretty rare, usually only on a road trip or something.

To the OP have you reset the screen since you bought the car. Because you said you drive 65mph mostly but your average speed is 18mph. I know you just recently bought the car and those are probably the previous owners numbers. You should reset it if you want to see what you are getting.

Anthra,

The trip meter was reset, so eventually when I get my lead foot on, I think it's going to drop down to 15 or so, : (
I'm getting 18-19 coasting in city and highway
mostly city and some la traffic

Hmm well I get 20 and thats with a lot of city, a lot of traffic and a lot of lead foot. I would really have to put some effort to get it down to 15

In this tank, for the first time, I'm driving with a medium-heavy foot, and my mileage is at 14-15, dang.

after a week and a half of ownership, I'm not that disappointed with the mileage. one tank was strictly city, and I got 16mpg. Next tank was 90% highway (no traffic), and I got 28mpg.

My 02 Altima (i4) got 31mpg in mostly highway and 18-19mpg in mainly city.

Not much of a drop in fuel economy considering I'm getting almost an extra 100bhp.

This might be common knowledge but it was knew to me,

Driving with a moderate weight foot gives best mileage. I was driving with a turtle foot = Bad mileage. Also flooring it is obviously not good for mpg.

Doing moderate footing gave me 21-22 with mixed driving last tank. Was worried about nothing.
