I am in Orange County, CA. I am looking for a DIY mechanic in the area experienced with ATF changes willing to change my ATF. I will compensate you for your time and expertise.

I am a light-DIYer. I change my oil, air filter, and cabin filter. Pretty much it. Limited supply of tools. I would like to learn from someone and then buy my own equipment and do it myself in the future. Thanks.

if you can change you engine oil this is even easier
No spin-on filter to drip down your arm~

Put the car on ramps and look at the rear of engine- the drain plug on driver side has ATF on it
the other one has OIL for engine oil stamped above it

Add thru the filler plug on top of trans, also marked ATF

for best results drive 15 minutes on freeway to get the fluid warmed so contaminents have a better chance of draining out.
Put on ramps like normal and drain
It will only give up 3 qts or a tick over 3qts of its 7.3 capacity
Refill with 3 qts HONDA ZR ATF only
thats it according to acura- no need to do more than a basic 3 qt change
Do that every 15k miles and be good
if you want to do a full fluid change look in the Garage section for 3x3 trans service

for real. if you could do oil, you could do tranny!! . i think its alot easier. the bolt for the drain plug is a 3/8 socket head so you dont need a socket to do it!

 

im 21 and was able to do it. its fairly simple. just spend some time reading the 3g garage links under the atf section. theres a lot of detailed pics which should help you out. it is definitely easier than the routine oil change. the hardest part for me was figuring out how to remove the splash guard under the car without breaking it. the rest of it is pretty simple.

 

its as easy just as easy as changing the oil.
