I need to get the windows tinted on my A4 Avant, and have the tint removed and then tinted again on my Integra among a few other cars that my in-laws and best friend want to get tinted as well. We're hoping to find one shop to get them all tinted at to save some money while also getting a good job done.

Name some of the shops you would recommend in so cal.

I heard good things about A Terrific Tint in Mission Viejo, but they actually screwed up my door panel. Stay away.

That's where I got mine done and they did a very good job. You do have to get there early though. If you get there after ~ 11 am, you might as well just turn around and go home/somewhere else unless you don't mind waiting or coming back when they close at 6 pm as they get packed with cars by about 9:30 am.

According to a friend of mines, kooltint is a really good tint shop. My friend got 2 of his Legend's tinted there, and the owner (Bernie) drives one too. I think i remember something about an Acura discount... ill get back to you guys on it. I'll be going there in the near future though.

that's close to my house. I drive past it all the time. It's been there for so many years but I've never used them. I may have to check them out.

 

I've used this place.

They didn't do a professional job. But I knew who put the tint on... he was from my old school and obviously he was a novice at doing the job. I would not recommend these guys personally but I went there almost 5 years ago. The place has been repainted and slightly redesigned since then. If they guarantee their work I'd check them out, otherwise pass it up.

I got my hatchback done there years ago. awesome job. Sold the car years ago too, so can't say how the tint held up since then.

 

yeah, I drive by every once in a while. The shop use to be in the building close to the carwash, but now it's on the other side. I think they hire kids out of/in high school to do the tinting, as soon as they get good, they take off for better pay or a real job.

 

Did they add the moleskin (felt) to your TL?

 

Sorry to bump an old thread but I've been reading through this one and the other one while looking for places in the LA area to get new tint for a 2010 TL.

I see everyone recommending the California Tint place in Rosemead both here and on yelp but not sure what kind of tint they use. Any higher quality (ceramic) tint available from them (obviously not for $150 as mentioned by many folks.. would pay extra)?

Also for the couple people recommending the Xlnt Tint place in Anaheim... how much were you quoted/paid if you remember?

I asked cali tint to add modleskin onto it and they charged 10 dollar per door. so it was 120+40 for a total of 160. I also got the non metallic tint (35% all around) which doesn't interfere w/ the radio/xm/gps.

 

protint is actually a pretty legit spot. its down the street from cali tint. the big yellow building

 

cali tint recommendation here also. I got to retint the car since the last owner never used FELT on the windows and now the tint's all scratched up.
