ask for Eli. Say Raymond with the Acura RL recommend you. They are located in Monterey Park.

Do you know the estimate on how much it would cost?
I got one place that's going to cost me $265-300 to polish four rims and repair one.

I'd imagine you'd have to call them up and ask for yourself. Also, where did you get the quote for $265-$300? It'd be nice to get a variety of places to compare.

It's a shop in City of Industry, I went to the place there and showed them in person.
Said $50 for polishing each rim and forgot how much to repair my rim. It's not too bad just bend a nip.

^^ That's way out of line. Custom Wheel Refinishing originally quoted me $375 each to do my wheels. I took it to Tru Wheel in No Hollywood and got charged $125 each.

I was originally going to take it to the shop noted below but didn't feel like driving too far from where I lived.

LAX Wheel Refinishing
(323) 269-1484
1520 Spence St
Los Angeles, CA

RB Wheels also repairs/refinishes for about $400 for a set.

So I guess the minimum to fix a set of wheels is about 400-500?

You have to bring in your wheels. If you just tell them over the phone for sure they will say to bring in your car so they can look at it physically. The place I go to they deal mostly with Porsches.

I see, I just called them and they said $90 but I guess it'll be better to go there and have them look at it.

To bring back this post, I've gone to FastForwardWheels and got price for my repairs.
And they also do wheel painting so I've decided to change my wheel color.
So I'll get my rims redone hopefully by next Friday.

Fast Forward Wheels charges my friend's stock wheels on his Porsche GT3 $450 all 4 wheels. Stock color was stock orange and repaint it into stock gloss black with silver lip. Turn around was 1 week

That's what he gave me with minor repairs and paint.
A little more for mounting/balancing my wheels which were $15 a piece.

Norm, its good if you go there in person and say Raymond recommended you and see if he can give you a deal. Usually he can't really tells you how you would want it over the phone. Best if you go there in person. Quite a drive for you but just check out his work in person.

i use capital wheels in Gardena. Had a bent lip on my 4 days old rims, and they repaired it in uhhhhh, 2 1/2 hours?
i took it to a bodyshop to paint it though because i didnt have my stocks with me and powdercoat takes a few days.
they charged me 60 bucks for the repair + 17.50 mount and balance.
didnt ask how much they charge to powdercoat though

dont think there is. when a shop fix a bent lip, they heat up the wheel and pull the bent back out, and that almost always chip the paint.........

I've had experience with TruWheel and also Mag Masters in Santa Ana. Mag Masters repaired two of my bent Work Meister S1 3-pc wheels on my S2K when my wife hit some major construction potholes and the repair came out flawless. Looked factory fresh and was about $200.

can any of these "cheap" places repaint or powdercoat GUNMETAL VOLKS?

the lips also need some work.

or are there more specialized places for such rims?

This guy seems to be really popular and cheap for socal, but i believe he's from around westminister.

SON TRAN
714-742-6855

THey call him the wheel repair god. Hit him up.

I have never had him done work for me, but if you look him up on google, you'll see his reviews, all positive.

yeah...i saw that. he's a miracle worker on scrapes, curbage, nicks & chips, but not sure about painting a whole set of rims to look new.

he's mobile so that's why i'm wondering about how he would go about painting/powdercoating rims.

i'll still give him a call & inquire, just wondering if anyone out there has had quality work done recently and where?

thx!

Might have to give Son Tran a call. I curbed one of my wheels a while back. From what I've been reading, he's considered the God of wheel repair. And prices range from $50 - $100 per wheel if he comes to you. Cheaper if you go to him.
