Clearing Headlights

Hey guys, I was looking to clear out my headlights, but have no experience with doing something like that. I hear its pretty easy if you follow the DIY, but I was wondering if anybody near Irvine or La Crescenta had done this and would want to give me a hand? Also looking to throw in some switchbacks and painting my grill, but those look a lot easier to do.

pop in the oven and set it at 400 degree and wait for 15 minute and you are ready to take it apart.

I was like when I saw 400. I went 7 minutes @ 250. 15 Minutes sounds better than 7. OP, I'd be glad to lend a hand.

Yes. For clearing headlights, the silicon needs to be melted and just pried apart. Same for any other car out there.

This should help:

Btw, these guys have many great tutorials.

I'll shoot you a PM legend. Anybody else have any experience with this and know what they're doing? The idea of a clearing day would be so sweet if we could make that happen too.

x2. I'm down. What color's your TL? I'm thinking cleared headlights would flow well with my silver TL.

if you supply the headlight sealant and paint, I'll do it for $75. I've cleared/blacked 4 sets of headlights now.

ive baked headlights. you really need patience. especially waiting every 8-10 minutes to resoften the OEM glue. its always better to have a 2nd hand to cut the glue while they other one is prying

I failed the patience test...now my headlights got water in them and the headlights dont sit flush with the body. I am looking to do this again but I can't figure out how to do this without a spare set of lights to keep in the car while I bake and wait for the sealant to silicone to set. Otherwise I would love to get some help but I am all the way in Imperial County. Don't forget to test the seal in a steamy bathroom.

So I pop these in the oven and set at 250 for 15 minutes. Once I get them open, do my business and then put back in oven at 250 for 5 minutes and press as hard as I can to get a flush headlight like stock. After all of that is done, what would I do for sealant? Any recommendations on that?

I planned on taking out the diffuser. I took it out and it just looks plain out rice on my color car, so I just put it back together. The OEM headlights look well on the color I have so i didnt paint it either.

^pretty much. There isnt much you can do with 99-01 style headlights beside paint, clear, or retrofit (which looks ). However, I did get to clean the lense on both sides.
