I need an opinion. I was planning on overhauling my L28 off my datsun since the history off of it was just a blown head gasket, but im worried about what else would be wrong via intake/exhaust valves, cylinder out of spec, etc. I was thinking about magnafluxing it, bore out the cylinders, and buying an overhaul kit to replace everything but my neighbor was advising me its not worth the money since the amount of money i would be putting in i wouldnt be getting anything back and that i should just buy a top end kit and replace all the gasket and work with what i have. What do you guys think?

I'd go with your neighbor's advice. Do you really want to do all of that extra work? Can you afford to get all of that stuff done?
