is there anything that i should be worried about when buying refurbished lenses off ebay?

im interested in this lens but its refurbished and a lot them are selling for $50-$70 shipped. they retail at $299. has 60 day warranty with the store.

This item was originally purchased from a major retail store and returned. It has been fully tested, cleaned and is in perfect operating condition. The item in this auction is presently in Grade A condition and could include light scuffs and/or scratches.

Agreed, especially since the seller doesn't allow any kind of exchange or refund. Only a 60 day warranty through them. Not worth it. What's your budget?

they do provide exchange for the same items. 60 day warranty through them plus 1 year warranty through their 3rd party.

i have dell credit about $1000.
if im using cash then i can buy some cheap used lens like this

my wife's patient who knows about cameras referred us to get a EF24-105mmf/4L IS USM. its about $1200 new.

theres a local shop in los angeles - Samy's Cameras and they rent lenses for $25 a day or two.

Ahh my bad, you're right. I read too fast, they don't exchange for a different item.

I just have a funny feeling about buy used electronics, especially ones I won't be able to try out. The 24-105mm is a very good choice indeed for a walk around lens. The 55-250 from ebay would be more of a telephoto lens. The 24-105mm is also in a way different league than the 55-250mm.

It also depends, what camera do you have? 24mm on a full frame camera is more ideal for walk around than 24mm on a crop sensor camera.

Let me know what camera you have and what kind of lens you're looking for (walkaround lens that's always on your camera or a telephoto) and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

I'd rent it first. Everybody has different preferences. If u do go with the 24-105 u can always go with an extender later on

Though optically the 24-105 F4L IS USM is quite good, you will find it too narrow and not that good as a walkaround, especially in a crop body like the 60D. at its widest, when you look through the viewfinder at 24mm, it will be more like looking through 38mm on a full frame body.

for the price, you are better off with a 17-55mm F/2.8 IS USM or, if you can live without the fast aperture, the 15-85mm F/3.5~5.6 IS USM.

Yup, the Canon EFS 17-55mm F/2.8 is my walk around, I can't recommend it enough for crop bodies!

Need your guy's opinion...

These are Eibach Sportline Lowering springs...

I picked these up, in hopes to go lower for a while, but I can't figure out what they are.

The guy I picked it up from claims they're are Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs off a 95 Accord. Said that they tuck pretty good and looking about 1.7" in rear, 1.8" in the front. Just wanted to know your guy's opinions on what these really are. I'm slapping them on anyways, been meaning to drive low. Great start it would be. Lol.

new car keeping you busy?

Ive actually gone back shooting weddings. I've been bored, but despite being busy with work, I found time to squeeze in a wedding every other month. that and following a rally team as their primary team photographer works out for me.
