Justin. Pick a day to go to Orochon Ramen. I'm thinking either Saturday night, or Monday night. What do you think?

I'd like to take a look at your kit when you get it slapped in the car, probably getting the DDM's or JD Lighting ones... not sure yet.

always put the sun behind you than in front, unless you have fill lighting. car is underlit but should be easy to fix in post.

install was pretty much straight forward for me. just cut off a wire that was supposed to go from the bulb itself to the foglight connector (DMM says we don't use it anyways). put the bulbs into the socket, tighten screws, connect foglight connector to ballast, connect two other wires on each side, mount ballast, and you're done.

in your case, you would have to do the foglight wiring first D: , which im guessing is the hardest part considering the wire tapping you have to do. but after that, everything should be straight forward. i used a DIY here coupled with a DIY at DDM.

Got it.

If I had a flash and used it on the left white wall, that would work well in this shot huh?

nope. you cant bounce to illuminate a backlit subject unless you have a powerful enough light source. a flash wont work but a remote strobe can, depending on how far it is from the wall, strength of the strobe, etc.

your best bet would have been to just mount a shoe mount flash and fire it. even the pop-up flash would have worked, anything to fill in the side in the shadow.

That is why I go with Original parts. Although it is a little pricy. At least no failure rates. I have my philips 3000K D2S and a Bosch ballast off an Audi for my foglights for 4 years now with no problems.
