Custom intake manifold

Category: Accessories
Price: $200
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): CL 2G, RL 2G, TL 3G, TL 2G, Type-S Model
Location (State/Prov/Terr): TX

Originally had this manifold customized for a build no longer in progress. Intake will fit many 1st and 2nd gen j-series motors: j30a1, j32a1/a2/a3, j35a3/a6/a8 as well as others. Although the EGR port is shaped differently from first gen j motors, it will still work.

Top plate was polished to a mirror like finish while the manifold body is more of a machined look. No issues and ready to bolt on and go! Text me at 214-592-3452 if you have any further questions or would like to purchase.

$200 plus shipping

Just in case anyone else cares to know, originally off of an 05 Odyssey J35A6. Same exact intake as the j35a8 and has same part number.

Before machining

Before top plate polishing

A mill was used to level the surface of the top plate and then a multi-axis CNC machine was used to engrave the "Acura" and its logo into it. The machinist actually had to "write" the program in order to do this before initiating the engraving process. Very expensive process if you were to take to a CNC shop to have work done. Also, all castings and imperfections were ground down and then sanded to give both pieces a similar texture and grain direction.

The top plate polishing process took several hours of labor not to mention supplies and materials. Though its not visible in the first picture, there's quite a bit of polishing compound packed into the engraving that is easily removed with a heat source and plastic bristle brush. Once cleaned again, this manifold is absolutely gorgeous and very pleasing to the eye.

Trust me when I say that at $240, you are stealing this manifold! ;-)

I mentioned this was the same manifold as the j35a8 in my last post and misinformed everyone. This manifold is NOT the same due to it not having the IMT (intake manifold tuning) valve on the passenger side of the intake manifold top plate. For those with the IMT valve in the top plate, the polished piece could NOT be used unless you eliminated this feature from the engine. Sorry for the mistake.

The lower manifold, however, is still exactly the same as the j35a8 as previously mentioned. Only the top plate is different to reclarify.

This will work with the J32A1 motor? What sort of gains would be made over the stock manifold?

Due to its larger internal volume, it would mostly add gains and performance in the higher RPM range. This generally doesn't occur without taking away power from low-range performance. In other words, expect more HP over TQ from the exchange.

This comes from personal experience of installing a J32A2 intake on my J30A1. Major difference were lost down low but then added down low. I'd recommend using this if you already have both a CAI and headers.

Not 100% but I'm sure you will need replace both the lower runners and injectors/rails to run this. Research first though.

Hi. I just purchased a 2003 CL-S J32 A2 engine to install into my 99 TL. Your manifold looks like it would be a great enhancement for my new engine. I have some questions I'm hoping you might be able to answer:

1. Is this a direct bolt on for my J32 A2 engine? (I think the answer is yes, but worth asking)
2. Will the 03 CL-S throttle body fit without modification?
3. I will be installing a CT Supercharger as well. Do you foresee any problems with that since the SC is designed for the 00-03 manifold?
4. And lastly, what type of gains might I expect on the 03 J32 A2 engine?

I was considering purchasing an intake from an 09 TL-S until I saw your manifold. Now I'm trying to decide which one to go with. Thanks in advance for your time and input.

He probably used solidworks or auto cad. No one really writes programs anymore. But it's gorgeous and I wish I could buy it.

This intake will bolt up and fit on ANY j-series motor. If its being installed on a TL (2g or 3g) or CL (1g or 2g), the IMT valve must be removed or disconnected as the feature does not exist on this manifold. Only the j30a1 and j32a1 would not require doing this as the IMT valve doesn't exist on these motors. As long as the valve is left plugged in, it will NOT cause a check engine light to illuminate or trouble codes to be stored as it is not a monitored system.

So, in short, the answer is YES...it will fit.
