I have up for sale a used Kicker ZX-SUM8 for sale. This is a signal processor used to retain the factory source but install amplifiers for interior speakers and subs. I used this to retain the factory radio from the line level signal before the factory amp to convert it to rca level signals. I have done all the research for you listed below, directly from kickers website and it worked wonderfully for me, just decided to go a different direction. It also has an auxillary input on the devide with a bass know/aux selector so you can hook up your ipod to it also that will be included in the deal. Im looking to get $100 firm plus shipping since i paid double that when i got it. I will not be shipping outside the U.S. since i got screwed on that last time.

I will have actual pictures of the item tonight when i get home from work.

The KICKER® ZXSUM8™ Summing Interface provides complete integration of aftermarket audio products into a vehicle’s factory OE system, while adding a handy auxiliary-input jack for entertainment from portable media devices. It assists in upgrading a stereo system by feeding KICKER Amplifiers a well-balanced meal of beefy full-range audio without having to replace the source unit.

Specifically, the ZXSUM8 sums and balances multiple signals of varying frequency ranges from a factory system into a single full-bandwidth, line-level signal to drive aftermarket amplifiers with full force over the entire audio spectrum.

The interface features four stereo speaker-level inputs and four line-level stereo RCA outputs, and each stereo channel is internally capable of both summing and line-output conversion. Portable media devices such as iPods® or iPhones™ can be integrated into the mobile system with the addition of a stereo RCA aux-input.

A convenient remote handles multiple functions of the ZXSUM8, including the control of aux-input level and Channel-4 output to separately adjust bass and auxiliary levels from the same remote source.

Sums up to four speaker-level stereo pairs down to a single stereo RCA low-level output
Each stereo channel is capable of both summing and line-output conversion; switched internally
Integrate portable media direct to your amp using aux-in and level control
4 stereo speaker-level inputs
4 line-level stereo RCA outputs
1 stereo RCA aux-input
Balance levels from multiple speaker-level sources
Multi-function remote controls both the aux-input level and the Channel-4 output to separately adjust bass and aux levels from the same remote source.

More specifications can be found on kickers website also.

I have a question regarding this unit:

How is it installed? Do you have to wire it to the stock HU? If so, did it bring all the wiring when you purchased it new, or did you have to supply your own wiring?

I'm in the market for a line output converter for my 09 TSX Tech, and I am aware that this is pretty much just that but just with more options & cleaner/more powerful outputs.

Yes you have to wire it to the stock head unit for it to receive the signals properly. It does not have to be connected behind the radio since there is usually not enough room behind there to mount this unit. When I had it installed in my 3g TL, I caught the inputs before the amp in the passenger kick panel. With regard to what it comes with, it will ship from me with everything that it came with originally. You do not need to use any additional wiring unless you want to mount it in some remote location (i.e. in the trunk or under a seat or something.)

The only thing you will need for this unit to make it work is a set of rca's for front, rear, and sub (3 total) and a wiring diagram for your car. There was no supplied wiring in the box when it was shipped new to me.

Thank You for the questions.

Where exactly will the fron & rear rca's be plugged into? I know the sub will go to an external amp to power the aftermarket sub, but what did you do about your front & rears?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, I just want to be clear before I purchase this.

Its the same concept of as the sub output. You will hook the front and rear inputs to a 4 channel amp so that you can increase the output from the oem radio through the sum8 to the amp. This will allow you to hook up aftermarket door speakers and rear deck speakers and get a much more full sound than the oem speakers running off the factory amp can produce.

You are not required to hook up a 4 channel amp however. You can use this for an aftermarket sub for the time being, and then when you decide to upgrade later you have the capability to rather than trying to uninstall something to reinstall a device that will do what you want it to.

I ran 4 speakers and a sub off this device. I left the center channel running through the oem deck since I didn't see the use in replacing it. Pm sent

I know originally you were asking 100 + shipping, before a member pointed out that new they are going for $148-199 depending where you get it from. What's the price still the same?
