What is driver's side "dummy button" for?

What is the "dummy button" on the driver's side for? You know, the blank black button right next to the instrument panel lamp dimmer?
OK, I know it's not for anything. However, it seems like it should be for some sort of optional equipment that my TL-S doesn't have. The rub is, however, that the only option on the TL is the Nav system, which is nowhere near this dummy button.
My guess is that at some point in time, some sort of optional equipment was going to use the button, but the equipment did not end up being offered, and a blank black button was installed in every car to cover the hole.
Also, if I remember correctly, on some model year TL's, the rightmost button contains the instrument panel lamp dimmer, and the leftmost button is blank. On my '02 TL-S, the leftmost button has the lamp dimmer and the rightmost button is blank.
Granted, this is not the most earth shattering question, but if anybody knows the answer, I am curious.
Finally, has anybody actually used the button to control an aftermarket add on? I am thinking about removing the blank button and locating the level control for a subwoofer there. Any other creative uses for this piece of dashboard real estate?

theres also one next to the VSA off and cruise control buttons too. for that one i put a on-off switch to control the lead-on for my amplifier. that way, i can turn my subs on anytime i want.*

Didn't notice that one!
Reason why I think the "dummy button" is an ideal location for sub level control is that there is a bit of room in the dash there, too--one of the few places in the dash that is not jammed with equipment.

I used it to install the JL Audio amp remote controller.
But I'm sure there are options overseas that we never got, which probably used this button location. Maybe the rear window power sunshade...

I've noticed this on a lot of honda accords. I think it's just an oversight. Parts bins get reused for different cars so it may have been cheaper for them. You could use the blank button for nitrous though as someone on here once did...

Foglight to the left, VSA/Cruise in the middle and sunroof to the right
If you don't have fogs, the button will not be there.
I used the blank switch near the sunroof and tcs/cruise buttons to trick my headunit into thinking that the parking brake was on so i could watch movies while in drive.
I am about to use the other blank switch near the gauge dimmer for the 01-03 civic fog mod

Goddamnit you guys. Don't you all know anything? This is simple to figure out, if you've seen the Jetson's before. Here...
1. Step Out of the car
2. Reach in the window, push the button
3. Car will proceed to fold up into briefcase form
4. Enter work and place it in your box.
God!
You're welcome.
P.S. The flying option is still in the works.

Those aren't the buttons I'm talking about.
The buttons are not on your Accord. They'd be somewhere below your coin tray, or whatever that is, below the row of three vertical buttons.
What I mean are horizontal black buttons. One contains the instrument panel lamp dimmer, the other is blank.

Got cross linked to this thread, to whoever that is wondering where the mirror folding button goes then know that it goes on the side mirror adjustment knob
. I did a conversion when i had a 97 prelude SH. On the side mirror adjustment switch to the top left you have the side mirror defogger on the exact same position towards the right side you have the mirror folding button
, depress for folding them and release to unfold.
As far as the switch blank, i have no idea as to what its for, in my car i have installed two switches to control auxiliary low beams and CCFLs.
