Mantis,

These look like a good fit.

BFG G-Force T/A Drag Radials
131-54458
Size: 225/45R17
Rim: 7.0''-8.5''
Section Width on Measuring Rim Width: 9.2'' on 7.5''
Diameter: 25.0'' $149.99

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...61&cgrfnbr=827

or the

Nitto 555r
P245/45 R17 95V 6.3 25.71 9.69 7.5-(8.0)-9.0 1521@44 808

http://www.nittotire.com/tires_555r.asp

The BFGs are slightly smaller in width (9.69" vs 9.2"), but will look more stock. Also, less diameter which helps off the line because it won't increase the gear ratio. The taller Nittos will likely hurt off the line (0-60 times), but will help on the big end (trap speed)

saw a new TL today, actually 2 with the stock kit. But the one that really caught my attention was a silver one with dark tinted windows and chromed stock 17" wheels. It was driving on the service road as I was exiting the highway... that car was HOT!!! Something about that kit and the stock lip spoiler, it looked really good!

I've been seeing quite a few of those lately too, and a few of them really are really pretty.

Mike, that totally sux. Real sorry to hear that -- your CL is really .

I haven't heard anything about Goodson. Only reference I have is Moritz Cadillac / BMW in Arlington. They do real good work on high-end cars. FWIW.

Good luck.

Man, what rotten luck you are having . . . I hope at least you didn't get hurt in the process.

As for autobody shops, sorry, no insight on them.

oh yeah, any must-dos when I go to Miami next week? Got a flight with hotel for $357 right in South Beach. Can't wait. I was planning on going snorkeling. Just got a nice float that'll keep my beer can in close proximity while I'm floating in the Gulf. I heard Miami waters are much more calm than the Pacific so I can actually use the float on the ocean. Oh yeah, and I need to get headers again this summer and the UR Pulleys.

I sold a few things off to get my insurance paid but I'm ok again now.

i bought the rotora stuff from the AW groupbuy a while back- october in fact. i got screwed on the deal, as they shipped me the metal masters instead of the ultimates (ceramic based) pads. after 3-4 months of calling and emailing, with no response from dean- (yes, i thought he was a respectable member too) i have now given up.

i put on the rotors and lines a while back, but never installed the pads, as i was expecting them to be exchanged. right now, the car seems to stop fine, so i'm not going to swap the pads just yet- still running on the stockies.

as for your case- i would probably say that if you're not experiencing warped rotors, just replace the pads for now. it doesnt seem to be much difference

if you're not putting on your metal master pads, do you want to sell them to me for what you bought them for during the GB?

duck: o yeah, nice pics by the way. I want to do a project like that maybe in a year. are you going to be running the audio through the stock headunit and speakers? Are you going to be running it by FM modulation or what? Just wondering how you're going to get audio in there is all. Also, is that Romeo Must Die playing in the DVD player? :P puahaha...

I'm spending some money on another project irght now that many of you have seen me go back and forth on. It'll be a surprise at our next meet.

yeah, thats romeo must die. i love the opening with that shiny black benzie.

i bought the blitzsafe adapter last week, which lets you run RCA audio to your stock headunit using the cd changer port.

press the cd button once for normal 6changer, and press once more to switch to the aux input. no fm modulation- better quality this way

(i'm not sure if you noticed- the changer says 1-99. thats what it says when you're running the aux input)

as for the pads- i have to wait and see what the credit card company says. i've filed a dispute for the pad portion of my order, and am still waiting to see how dean is going to respond (thats my last ditch effort to get him to repond to my calls)

i'll have to see how that goes, and if i need to ship them back or whatever

Bluesman, I have used the Acura bodyshop before and they were good--but I don't know the cost (insurance covered it). If you wander over to the service section of the dealership, ask for Susan Tableman (tall blonde). She is the Comptech rep, does all the NSX servicing, is way-cool, loves to talk gearhead stuff, etc. Say "hi" to her for me! Inferno

Texas World Speedway was a whole lot of fun! I had an AWD instructor who showed me a new line on two of the turns that kicks ass in an AWD--a solid car length on corner entry and two lengths on exit! Sweet stuff. I'm still getting the smell of breaks out of my hair!!!

Inferno,

Glad you had some fun. Good stuff.

I saw that Speed Channel had on the Road & Track Readers Choice Award for 2004 Car of the Year.

The 2nd Runner up was the Porsche GT3, 1st Runner Up was the Mazda RX8 and the Winner was the . . .

drum roll please . . . the WRX STI . . :bigclap:

It was the all around best performance car for the price.

thats exactly where i got it from 7.50 shipping

the lcd screen takes any RCA video input, and i wired the audio using the blitzsafe. for now, i'm using a PS2, because it plays dvd's. i was also considering a dreamcast, because it can play vcd's (with the help of a boot disc). we plugged in casper's laptop tv out while we were testing. basically, any RCA video input you want can be plugged in to the screen.

i have been toying with the idea of a backup camera- silverknight mentioned he got his for 99$ at frys, but when i went over there, frys said they discontinued it a while back. i glanced at ebay, and they had one for ~$55, but i'm not sure if i'll be doing that just yet. for now, its just a ps2 on my screen.

Inferno, thanks for the input on Goodson. Next time I'm over there I will try to find Susan.

I am thinking of having them put a Wings West frount bumper cover in place of the stock one should be about the same price if not cheaper. Anyone have any thoughts/ info on this?

I'm in a Grand Cherokee for now.
