whoa, i've never seen a quick release negative battery terminal before
Right!? A total of $6.00 for both positive & negative cables from the salvage yard, and I bet they spent more than that on the cobbled together positive terminal.
Nothing you use on the headlights will last unless you get them clear coated with 2k clear from a body shop.
you can probably rattle can but the orange peel of a rattle can will leave you needing to cut and buff which will end up right back at not having protection on them.

This is true, with all the innovations of this decade, I'd think headlight haze/cloudiness would have been a thing of the past.
As you can see nothing was going on during my days off...
...and the weather was decent, so I made good use of my time before it gets cold again. It needed some basic maintenance we have overlooked to fix the bigger issues, so I caught up on that..
I figure my jack handle & vise grips would suffice as body tools for a bit, and make it look just a little bit less shitty than before with no real improvement. My daughter gave me an f- which was well deserved. Until I find a decently priced fender.
My brother dropped by with an extra dead pedal he had acquired a while ago, I trimmed it up a bit on the backside and it fits!
Through a roundabout way I pieced together a pedal set after acquiring the freebie dead pedal, the main reason for doing this was the hole worn through the original brake pedal pad.
Brian had a bitch of a time drilling out the rivets on the brake pedal.
Brian & I are kind of stuck at the moment with this car, the power steering rack mounting bolts have both been busted off at the threads inside the subframe, so it's not the safest idea to be driving it around. While it's been sitting we've fixed the front bumper from the previous owners front impact, causing it to bow out & fit poorly.
Here you can see the driver side bumper mounting tab buckled back
Same on the passenger side, as well as the power steering cooler needing to be straightened.

Based on the previous owner of the car, it's likely that a mechanic replaced those plugs. Do they not even look at the shop manual when servicing cars anymore?
Sweet project so far. That's a lot of work. Love your profile pic BTW.
