Map scale for CarPlay Maps in 2018 TLX-Tech

When using Maps & CarPlay (2018 TLX-Tech) for routing, is only one map scale available? I often wish to see a bit further ahead than what is presented on just the single scale that CarPlay displays. Various map scales exist for Acura’s Navigation System… but missed (so far) with CarPlay. I may have to toss CarPlay if there’s no solution…

In routing mode you should see a "+" and "-" symbol in the bottom right part of the map. Click on those to change scale.

Living in a very large metro area I typically want to view a large area to what highways are backed up and what to avoid. It is not so much using the nav to find a route but more as a traffic monitor for my daily commute. That is why I wish I could set a defaults at a 5 or 10 mile view.

So after downloading iOS 12.0 to my IPhone last night, I drove to work this morning with 4 Navigation Tools - Acura Navi, and Apple Maps as usual, plus Waze and Google Maps that are now showing up on my Car Play. It's a plethora of riches, but I did find the routing on the Waze to be somewhat weird, with detours that would take longer than the bit of construction. ( I had read about Waze being added with the update on the RDX forum, but didn't see mention of google maps). I did noticed that even when I left the WAZE app to do something else, the voice directions were still active. By opening the Acura App, I was able to kill the voice directions.
