Sorry. Meant to put this is the Accord thread.
I moved your post to the Accord thread using my magical moderator-fu.

I can only tell you all: I should have waited for an Accord 6MT 2.0t. I would be all over that even with the saggy butt rear. Gonna go test drive one for spits and giggles.

I still don't know if that's enough to keep the TLX 2.4 around, but the quiet cabin in combination with the NA V6 it might be enough to keep the FWD V6.
I still really enjoy my FWD V6, after two years of purchase. The new Accord does look nice (wish I had that gauge cluster) though, but I still want a V6.

Same here. About 20 months in on my 16 V6 PAWS and I enjoy it as much as the day I picked it up. It just needs some stickier rubber than the OEM Bridgestones.

I'm excited for the new Accord. Can't wait to drive a 6MT.

I excited to also see some of the cool turbo builds happening soon on the various Accord forums.

Maybe a 2.4T in the next TLX? I can’t see have the I4 TLX sells at all compared to the Accord.

Starting at $31000 for an Accord 2.0T, it is at least $3000 too high. I'd still rather get a TLX V6 at $36200.

I don't see Honda doing a 2.4T, when 2.0T is enough for them, and BMW/BENZ and everyone else.

The new Accord dash layout outclasses the TLX by far. Love the new infotainment unit, which is getting good marks on all the reviews. The center stack especially looks much more premium. I like that the Touring has adaptive dampers and heads-up display standard. Lots of tech in this car.

I wonder for 2019, if they will put the adaptive dampers in the 2.0T Sport

It is HIGHLY amusing to see a 2018 Camry 2.5 NA 8-speed to consume less than an Accord 2018 1.5T CVT.

29/41/34 vs 30/38/33. We'll see about real world acceleration.

The show must go on.

2018 Camry SE, 4 CYL, 0-60 7.9 seconds
1/4 mile, 16.2 90mph

Camry XSE V6 0-60 5.8seconds

2018 Accord 2.0T TOURING 0-60 5.7 seconds
1/4 mile 14.3seconds, 99.3mph

1.5T CVT 0-60 mph in 7.6 seconds,
1/4 mile 15.9 seconds at 89.3 mph

2.0 T 6 MT Sport 0-60 6.2 seconds
1/4 mile 14.8, 96.2mph

Camry is 300lb heavier.

Design wise, the camry does it for me. With the Pano roof, quad exhaust pipes, it looks way more aggressive.

But the Accord 2.0T with the man pedal, has me sold.

Yeah, very surprising to see a MT back. Much appreciated.

But... 0-60mph is not real world acceleration to me, 5-60 is.

I like the new Accord 2.0T with the manual transmission. But they need to make leather available with the manual transmission. I really hate Honda for pick and choose their combos. Let consumers choose, even if special order from factory. This has been a complain for the last 10-15 years.

On a side note, I saw a new 2018 Camry XLE the other day in white and man, that car has the premium look like the Lexus ES. Camry and Accord are definitely better than ever.

The only complaint I have is with the 9 speed on my late build 2015. It's still somewhat quirky, after all the updates. Might need to argue to get it replaced....

I'll also be interested in seeing real world mpg results. Unlike a lot of manufacturers, Hondas almost always outperform their EPA numbers. Our 9G Accord (with 6MT) is rated at 34 highway, but routinely puts up numbers from 37-42+ mpg on the highway. On the other hand, I think the real world experience with a lot of the new turbo 4s is that that they love the EPA test, but fail to deliver their gaudy mpg numbers on the street. I recently rented a new Malibu on a business trip (boy, has Chevy ruined that car). It was a 4 cylinder turbo (1.6L, I think) and was anemic, while delivering really poor fuel mileage. It never returned an average in a week's worth of driving (including a lot of freeway miles in New Mexico) over 27 mpg. Our Accord gets over 27 mpg on a short trip to the grocery store.

I'm sorry but this does not belong in a Honda, must have been part of the MMC cycle for the TLX. Looks great, Accord will make a killing. It just makes the TLX's interior feel generic, nothing that pulls people in.

I'm the same way. I'm tempted to not sell my Accord and just wait for the 18 to come out, just to see. I know the owner at a local dealer, so I always get a good deal on Honda's.

I need to buy my wife a van so if I could get 2 cars out of the deal, that would be great.

It's funny - I've watched about 10 reviews of the Accord over the past few days while riding the stationary bike and I think half of them have said something to the effect of "With regards to the exterior stylling - uh - it will have to grow on you..."

I submit from some angles it looks okay - from others it makes me pine for a Chevy Malibu!

The only thing I do not like about the new Accord is the rear- obviously styling is subjective and I really need to see one in person before passing final judgment.

Funny, because a new Malibu drove by me when I was out walking yesterday and i did a double take because it reminded me of the Accord fast back design.

The new Malibu is not bad looking. It's just not a very good car. Slow, with poor MPG and a crappy interior.

Put some coils on the new Accord, some new wheels and tint.

I think it would look good.

Aye - I'm sure the design will grow on me and I'll get over myself in time.

The real disappointment for me was they were marketing it as an all new bold design etc etc - and they pull the tarp off to reveal the Chevy Malibu!!

Not really. The 2.0T will probably be in the EX-L trim. Right around the price range of the EX-L V6 in previous models.

Depending on the specs of the 19s they come with, I'd keep those. Best wheels, other than the Accord Sport/Touring, wheels I've seen on the Accord.

For mid 200 HP and torque, but maybe a 325HP high torque TL-S

The MT with the 2.0T sounds very appealing. I wish that they kept the same rims on the Sport....loved those. The interior looks great, esp the head unit. The rear is not my favorite but it is OK. Sounds like the torque is always available. Waiting for this to arrive in November, and then the new RDX in the spring.

2.0 is kind of a sweet spot for 4 cylinder engines. You will seldom see one over 2.4 as the pistons start to be big. Its not hard for a good engine company to get 325HP out of a 2T as long as the engine has been designed as a turbo to start. The MB-CLA has a 2.0T rated at 355HP.

HONDA has done well with small displacement racing turbos & most likely has built a few high power 2.0T's for testing.

A while back some big brain guys did a number of simulations & came up with 500cc per cylinder as being the ideal displacement for a 4.

Well Honda has the 2.0T in the CTR making over 300hp. So I doubt they need anymore displacement for a TLX
