Breezy's TL-S Progress Thread
#201
Nothing too crazy going on since my roads were tore up and still not finished... Hoping this week they will finish them, but there is rain in the forecast. I did however start hearing a clank, whenever I hit a bump or go over uneven ground, from the rear passenger side. After inspection this afternoon on my lunch break I found it to be the bushing for the Progress Rear Sway Bar. It ripped on one side and walked itself out of the mount. Does anyone know off hand if you can buy new bushings, I haven't searched yet but hoping you can. I may just try to put this one back in until a new one shows up. Other than this little issue the car is treating me well.
Hiding from a hail storm... We are up about 5" in rain from last year this time. Been pissin' me off lately! Hard to keep it clean, but then again Dirty is the new Clean!

Looks like Heeltoe offers some bushings. $12 + Shipping
Has anyone purchased/ran these?
https://www.heeltoeauto.com/prothane...-brackets.html
Progress offers these for $30 + shipping
https://www.progressauto.com/product.../productID/668
I would like to get the best ones I can so I don't have to keep replacing these every year.

Been awhile since an update.
Been itching to get a truck so I listed the car for sale locally, only to receive KBB offers... After waiting for the right buyer to call, I grew impatient and decided to spend some money on the car. I will just add it to the growing pile of parts waiting to go on, since I have been sitting on parts for a year or so. Too damn busy with getting my yard work done, weddings, work, work, and more work. I swear one day I will get something put on!
Latest addition the mod pile in the basement. Decided to get my SSM aspec sides from my previous car sprayed for the current car. I think they turned out perfect and can't wait to get them on (either this year or next). Might as well keep the trend going!
Primer
KBP!
Also picked up new sway bar bushings from HeelToe. Hopefully these don't fail as quick as the other ones.
I should turn this into a SLOW progress thread since I have little time to do things!

Reason I listed locally was because I am undecided and haven't found a truck I want it. The slower sale process could benefit me or hurt me. I sell to quick, I am left to buy whats out there. I sell to slow, lose out on a truck I want. I will keep it for now but have an active listing out there in case someone who knows the cars is willing to pay for it. Who knows after the ASpec sides go on and other mods go on I will like it even more. Absolutely love the car but hate the idea of driving it in winter and hunting from it... Looking for a beater now so I have time to find one before the white shit flys again in 5 months...

The skirts look fantastic, nice job on the paint. Honestly even an older truck (10-12yrs) with high miles (if you play your cards right) could be an extremely reliable and ideal daily for shitty snow, some of them are absolutely bulletproof. Unless you have your eye on a shiny new rig

Can't wait to see everything finished, Breezy!

Boat is headed to storage end of october, and I wasn't really looking too hard for anything but a friend said he was going to list his truck in the near future so I figured I would take a look at it. Truck was very dirty on the inside, but with a little elbow grease and sweat it is coming out very clean. Looks almost new!
It does have a few issues but I am taking care of those while I wait for the title. I did blow the main line supplying fluid to the rear brakes on the way home. Talk about puckering... Thankfully no one was in front of me since I coasted thru a red light. Waiting on some tools to make my own lines. CEL is on for a Evap code (typical chevy), and had a bank 1 & 2 lean code. Just cleaned out the MAF sensor so hopefully that took care of that.
I think I can fit more than 1 deer at a time in here. TL wont see those days anymore, thankfully!

so you sold the TL?

Toyed with the idea of letting the S go. Got a really really good offer but weighed my options for what is out there in the sub $15,000 range that is 4 door, sporty, fun as hell to drive, reliable and looks so damn good when clean. Not much came up that I liked. I decided to pass on it and keep the bad bitch! After neglecting her for some time and thinking of selling her, she deserved a good rub down. We started with a foam party from the cannon, then a little clay followed with a nice coat of wax to seal her up. I can't believe what a little elbow grease can do. Couldn't imagine what a paint correction would look like on her. This coming weekend is Bow hunting opener, and my girlfriend will be out of town. The title for my truck will be coming this week so I will hopefully have that registered in time. With that said I may put her on stands and get some work done on her while I have time to myself to putz on it and finally drive the truck around. DMV can suck my balls since they took 5 weeks to release the lien that was on the truck when I bought it. Also, checked out my storage location so she wont see salt this year!

i was in the same spot, toyed with people wanting to buy the car without me really pushing a sale (believe it or not i had about 12 people contact me in the last 3 months) and finally decided it's better for my family financially to hold off and keep this car another 3-5 years and then get something really nice. last weekend i did a full 2 stage paint correction and detail session followed by a seal and wax and the car looks amazing. now i'm doing some small cheap interior mods to freshen it up (cf wrap interior trim).
glad to hear you're keeping it!

Girlfriend was out of town this past weekend and I had the Saturday afternoon open to do a couple things. Got around to putting on a new steering wheel and finally put my A-Spec sides on. I am very pleased with how well the paint matches. I think it matches better than the OEM ones. I had intentions to put in the short shifter and KP tech window roll-up mod, but decided to go sit in my tree stand for a few hours, on Sunday, since the temp dropped a little bit and had a few things to tidy up out there before the temps get to 50-60's and the deer start moving.
As mentioned by a couple others who did the steering wheel, it is a must. Pricey but well worth it when you touch it everyday.
Side skirts complete the front and rear. Happy to finally have them on!
I know they don't look like they match but they do. Car has a nice layer of dirt/dust on it. I will get some better pics soon. After putting these on, I have the urge to put my suspension on. Would it be wise to put it on before storing the car or wait til spring?

i use leatherique twice a year as my "big" conditioning product for all leather in my car. it's the best in the industry but pricey
for the in-between maintenance (maybe every 2 months) i use griot's or lexol. i personally only use the lexol cleaning one and not the conditioner, i use the griot's for conditioning.

Well the 2018 car season started a little early since my truck sprouted a brake line leak again. I replaced the rear lines last year and looks like I will do the fronts this month. Kind of bummed it happened but I knew it was eventually going to happen. Crappy part is we are suppose to get 2" of snow tonight and shit weather the rest of the week.
Seeing her for the first time in 5 Months made me fall in love yet again. Sitting so low to the ground and the throttle response compared to my truck makes me hit the go fast pedal every opportunity I have to let her breathe.
Bringing my unicorn home to the stable.
This years goals:
- Tein SA Coils W/ EDFC
- SPC Upper Camber Arms
- Comptech Short Shifter
- Slave Cylinder Check Valve Delete W/ SS Line
- Swap to Modded Tails
- Window Roll Up Mod
- HIC CF Rear Roof Spoiler
- (2) OEM Axles (If needed after Coil install)
- Paint Calipers
- HID Fogs
- Fix Armrest
- RV6-P Strut Bar

Well after attending the WCEC Season Opener over the weekend, I went straight home and swapped out some parts to make my list a little shorter! The show had a huge turnout even though there were snow piles still in the parking lot. They were at max capacity after 60 minutes of the gates being open. I was able to snap a few pics with my camera but haven't converted the files to jpg yet. I will upload a few later this week when I have time.
Once I got home I changed out the Strut Bar and put on the Modded Tails. Question for the guys that swap tails out often. Do I need to keep the bracket that is under the tails, in place, or can I remove it all together? As of now I removed the whole bracket. I want to remove the bumper next time and clean underneath it, so if I need it I will reinstall at that time. There was quite a bit of dirt/dust behind the tail lights that I was able to wipe out.
