Yes definitely. My ILX had an intake and a catless downpipe so it was loud. The dealership gave me the newer ILX's as a loaner and it was still kind of loud too.
The TLX is def more refined and comfortable, doesn't handle nearly as well IMO but I guess they're two different types of cars.

I'm curious, aren't you going to miss stirring your own gears? After 35 years of driving nothing but manual transmission equipped cars, I was forced into buying a car with an automatic back in 2012; hated it when I got it, still hated it five years later. The good news is I'm back in a car with three pedals under the dash.

I hear you there. Back when I got my CL Type S in 2001 I thought the power would make up for the lack of a manual. Ended up trading it in 2003 for a manual version and it was a night and day difference. Will try to keep at least one manual all the time to keep my sanity in check.
Yes, I do miss rowing my own gears. Joyriding and cruising isn't the same anymore without a manual. But my new commute consists of an hour of stop and go traffic and I definitely would not enjoy that. Maybe I'll pick up another manual Honda as a daily some day.
I thought about it but I like the way the car rides right now and I don't have to worry about pot holes as much. Going to probably do an OEM spoiler or lip wing next.

If you really want to, you CAN drive the DCT like a manual, just without the 3rd pedal. Of course, it's not quite the same but the closest I've seen any auto get to feeling like a manual.
Lol. I had a VW GLI with the DSG because the car performed better with the DSG and flicking the paddle shifts just wasn't the same as running your own gears, especially since Honda made/makes such smooth shifting gearboxes.

I love the Mazda, a much more livable "almost GTI" for day to day driving compared to my wife's previous 2012 GTI. That said, I much prefer driving the 2006 TL; if for no other reason that it is a bit more roomy (oh, and I absolutely hate the Mazda's single screen which covers audio, GPS, trip computer, setup, and hell I don't know, picking my nose, where only one display can be seen at a time).

I hear you, I bought a RLX last year and while it is a nice car I missed having a 6 speed. Fortunately I found a 6 speed TL type S.

So over the past weekend. I decided to try to repair and touch up my wheels. Previous owner had some scratches and curb rash on them and I unfortunately added to that. To the point where I was quoted $150 to fix per wheel. Decided to sand it down, use metal filler for the deeper sections and had to order custom touch up paint to try to at least make them more presentable. Turned out okay, was in a bit of a rush but if I think I can make them look better if I get around to try again.
Just a quick update I was browsing through Craigslist and found a slightly used AEM CAI earlier this week. Picked it up, and installed last night. I didn't know it at the time but it was missing a rubber mount that connects to the car but managed to install it regardless. Just had to position the intake a little differently. Need to stop by hardware store soon to see if I can find a suitable replacement. Other than that, the most time consuming part for me was removal of the OEM resonator. There is this one bolt that was very hard to reach and it took me longer to remove that than to remove the OEM airbox.
Impressions: The car idles and sounds stock even at cold start. Under moderate acceleration, just a tad louder than stock, but when you go WOT the car sounds nice and aggressive especially with the Vtech crossover. You can't really "feel" any gains but I do like how the car sounds now as it has a nice growl to it when I want it. Pictures to come.
Just an update. I went back to the OEM airbox as I had to take the car into service. Ended up selling the intake to a local buyer at a discount cause of the above missing part. Looking to do a custom lip spoiler in the coming weeks to get ready for the warm weather. Ended up taking some pictures after a good wash and wax.

Reminds me of wheels that look good on a blue Subaru STi though - but, I do prefer the stock TLX wheels, those sure are nice wheels (the 18" ones that come on the Tech etc.).
Had a custom lip wing made and paint matched. The wing itself came out nice. Only extends to fit the contours of the trunk. It would look so much better with a drop.

Its been good. I do miss rowing my own gears though. The transmission on this car seems very sluggish to me compared to its other competitors. Hopefully Acura will do a dual clutch for the future models since I don't think Acura will be doing any more manuals anymore.
