Well I mean it does just have a bit over 300hp. That means it totally sucks.
oh, wait, you mean the torque numbers are pretty much the same as the horsepower? Something an NA engine can't touch, unless it grows stupidly in size and cylinders? Who would have thought?
what I find interesting is the noob is another fine showcasing of someone who has zero idea about forced induction or power curves, and just looks at the ultimate HP number and that's it. I used to do that too. When I was 16.
I bet that Q7 hits its peak torque around 1500rpm and holds it for quite sometime. The numbers may look low, but in reality, the down low torque and quick HP build up make it pretty damn fast. I'm sorry, but a 5000lb SUV doing 5.5s 0-60 is pretty fucking stellar.
And really, if OP was so inclined, all he needs is a chip to go faster

From what I have heard APR is working on a stage 1 tune that is rumored to put the 3.0 in the 400HP / 400LB FT neighborhood which would be insane in something this size. However, at this point in stock form it is more than enough power than my wife will ever need and she will drive it 90% of the time. And if I want to go faster I can always drive my other car.....
On the other hand, another rumor I have heard is that some Audi dealers will actually install these tunes. Now that could be a game changer, because if I can get a tune like that done that is authorized by Audi it is going to present a BIG problem trying to control myself from not doing it..

I know I am going to begin to sound like a mental patient constantly repeating the same thing over and over, but while the 5.5 is nuts on something this big, what really amazes me is how light it feels on it's feet.

The modern cars are stupid good in terms of handling. It doesn't feel good much, but it works. Did a BMW event two weeks ago. Got to do a AutoX in the new 540i. The thing is like 4000 lbs but went around the track really well. That same feeling, light on the feet. The computer was doing a lot of work.

if you can get a tune though the dealership and still keep warranty, that would be amazeballs. Many forced induction cars are limited in power production, on purpose, to fit that certain market segment and buyer. But if a manufacturer is willing to let you get more as an option, fuck yeah, sign me up.

Congrats on the new Q7, looks great in that gray/purple color.
Not surprised on how light it feels for it's weight, my brother's 2004 Cayenne Turbo was surprisingly nimble and agile for a 2.5t SUV.
I imagine the Porsche engineers who worked on the Cayenne also worked on the Q7.

The other thing I LOVE about this platform is the structural rigidity, 7760 pound towing capacity is nothing to laugh at.

Right! It's insane! Even my 2004 touareg with the shitty 3.2l V6 (230hp) and weighing roughly 5100 pounds was still able to tow 7760 pounds and I remember someone on the Touareg forum towed 10k pounds on a normal basis but that was with the V10 diesel model. I think the reason these vehicles can do this is because the platformis strictly a crossover platform. It's not derived from an existing car platform.
Sorry to semi derail the thread OP. But while I'm here, we want more pics!

You obviously missed the posts about getting this thing chipped and it will easily put down 400hp then. But feel free to continue being a dumb cunt, at your own leisure.

But it's cool, everyone who ever had a "stock" wrx with 400hp got their motor replaced free of charge. No if, ands, or buts. See what I'm getting at here?

That's great and all, but we are talking about a brand new car with a warranty. I'm sure the motor in this thing isn't cheap to replace if something were to go wrong due to these magical tunes that increase performance but have no ill consequences.

He doesn't seem to realize that almost all factory turbo cars come heavily detuned, they do this because if they were to tune to full potential or even near it idiots would be wrecking their cars left and right.

While you may not feel my Q7 purchase was a wise one, I don't recall when you were put in charge of managing my money so it shouldn't bother you as much as it does. If I wanted to flush $66K down the toilet as you feel I did, again it shouldn't bother you since it has no affect on you.
In addition, the Q7 comes with 333hp, and I even mentioned in a post that rumor has it that some Audi dealers will install the tune which means it would not void the warranty. So in that case I MAY consider it, otherwise I wouldn't take any chances since the Q7 is fast enough as is and I don't expect to be bringing it to the track anytime soon.
Now that we got that out of the way I would really like you to post pics of your TLX.. I mean your car cause I would really like to see what you drive and think is the best thing on four wheels..

Not sure what your problem is and why you chose to come into my thread and spew your shit.. If you have a problem with Audi products (which is apparent) that's fine, but lets clear a few things up..

You're trying to rationalize with Saintor, who is dead from the neck up. He's not a real car enthusiast, he's leasing a garbage car for $200 a month and how we are all morons for not understanding his logic. He makes a worthless thread in Ramblings about Azine mods and members here that don't have Acuras, shouldn't be part of this forum. This "New" guy randomly comes into your thread (an Audi thread) makes his 1st post (a worthless one) about his 2 cents and continues to bash you on your purchase and crap up this thread. Yeah, if it sounds like a duck, looks like a duck, it's a duck aka Sanitor. He's on the top list of worthless members here who don't contribute to anything positive or anything at all for that matter. Congratulations on your new vehicle, regardless of the year, make and model. It's beautiful, I wish you the vest best. Yes, the enthusiast in me says get a tune as well.
I'm not trying to rationalize with him, I am just venting out of frustration because my dream has always been to be a Mod on AZ but I can't since I still own an Acura... Yeah I saw that thread in Ramblings and BS he has been spewing there too.

No worries man, anytime! I hear you on the moderator thing. No idea why Sanitor and others are still here. They crap on this forum daily and it's the same old bullshit day in and day out. Main reason why I no longer feel the need to log in and post. I've been here for a long time and the quality of posts / members have declined. God forbid someone here gets a new vehicle, other than an Acura. This clown told me to leave this forum and join a Mercedes forum because I'm in the process of buying one (Not sure which one yet) for my wife. Doesn't matter though that I poured so much blood, sweat and tears into my Acura and helped countless members here. All the free work I did in my driveway for members or my time and money to bring food to Acura meets. The list goes on.. As I get older, I don't bother to tolerate most of the garbage that happens here or in my daily routine. I have my family, my home and responsibilities to worry about, everything else isn't worth my time. Congratulations once again! She's a beauty!

Full Dash with Google Earth displaying in instrument cluster and Audi Drive Select on the "Pop-Up" Tablet.
Here are just few a the different ways you can configure the instrumentation.
This is the Google Earth View zoomed out for the pic, I can zoom in on it to show the actual street very clear

Wow! Just as neat as the A8!! My friend's mother got an A8L last year and the dash resembles it a lot. My only gripe is pop-up nav screens in the center, but that's a personal thing. One can argue it gives a prestige feel. Otherwise it's very well executed!!

Yeah I hear ya, but for me since I have a pop-up in my CTS-V I am used to them. Plus the one in Q7 is very thin, and I can always keep it down while driving if I wanted to and control everything through the instrument cluster and wheel. But the wife loves it and that's what matters since it's her SUV..
