New to the KBP 3G TL-S 6MT Game
Hey all, after wanting one of these for a while I snagged it last week. One owner, 96k miles, stock and well maintained. Loving it so far.
Glad to be part of the family. The TL joins my ILX, Legends, Vigor, Integra, and NSX in my crazy quest to buy all my dream Acuras, haha.
I posted a blog entry with more of the story and pics. Look forward to learning more about these cars and hopefully meeting some of you.

Thank you! I lucked out and a friend found this one for me right in my backyard! (Well, 2 hrs north of me).
Will do! Thank you!
Haha, I'm working on it! SLX is on the list next. They are pretty elusive - clean ones are as tough to find as a TL 6-speed.
Thanks!!
Thanks for following, it's been a fun ride. I've been daily driving the ILX for 5 years and it's just time for something a little bigger with more power.
That's for sure, I've loved these TL's since they first came out.
Thanks very much!

welcome and congrats!! bummer it's not a black interior but still a great find with one owner!
not sure if you're the type to mod or not, but if you do, here are the "almost necessary" 6mt TL upgrades you should do:
- gm synchromesh friction modified transmission fluid...makes the car shift like butter and can even solve the 3rd gear popping out issue (if you have it). i replaced the fluid right when i bought my car new because it makes it that much better
- slave cylinder check valve delete...almost makes the car shift like a normal car (huge thread on how to do it...free mod)
- hybrid racing shifter bushings...tightens up the slop in the shift knob
- comptech short shifter and heavy weight shift knob...makes shifts crisper and more precise
also if you want the aspec lip kit (highly recommended for aesthetics) you should get it asap because they've already been discontinued and are nearly sold out completely. most colors don't even have all options available any more
enjoy!

Not yet! At the house I have room for 6 cars in one garage, and 1 in the other. So right now I have room for all 7 indoors!

Ok wait... Do you drive all of them? Are they all insured? Or do you just throw insurance on a particular car, the day you want to drive it?

I just renewed my GEICO policy. I'm sure they think I'm nuts.

Congrats on the buy. Can't believe how many cars you have though! Does it not become a pain to maintain them all?
I think I would be completely content with a slick DD like the 3G TL and a track/garage queen like an AP1/AP2 or a 3G Prelude. Btw, what year and model is the middle right brown Acura sedan?

Haha, sounds about right.
Yes! Love the GS-R. That has 239,000 miles on it and is bone stock.
Yes, I remember that G2 sedan from your signature. It's good to keep running into you afer all these years.
$1,300 every 6 months for 7 cars. That's full coverage on NSX, TL, ILX, and liability only on everything else.
I keep an Excel maintenance spreadsheet on every car. Otherwise I would never be able to remember what was done to each one, and when. Luckily the bulk of the miles go on the ILX which is extremely easy to maintain. 0W20 oil changes every 9,000 miles. In 194,000 miles the only unexpected mechanical failure was having the original starter go out last week.
The Legend coupe is on its 7th timing belt, 4th windshield, 3rd alternator, but original engine, transmission, and clutch at 552,000 miles. I've had it since 95,000 miles in 2003. That's the car you asked about from the pic.

Interesting advice sockr1, I just purchased a 2006 TL 6-Speed, which obviously is the year before the TL-S models were released. My question is, does the above advice apply to earlier TL 6-Speed models?

Awesome sockr1, thanks!
I'm thinking the top of my "To-Do" list will be a new fill of GM Syncromesh.

Thanks Alan! You know I will.
I appreciate that. It's been a labor of love, and it's not finished yet. Thinking longer term, I want to do some kind of custom flooring, an audio system, and some classy leather seating. Oh and a glass case to display some of my brochures and literature. My dad said he'd help me build something like that.
Probably. It's a sweet ride and I got the chance to put about 40 miles on one last October. But I do with it were offered with a clutch pedal.
Actually just got home from 3 days in Vegas at an "NSX WestFest" event. We had about 60 cars, several of which were the new 2017s.

Thank you. Got my custom plate in the mail just yesterday.

Funny how you mention the new nsx Tyson. I drop my RL off for service at local acura dealer so my son took me on a short trip to show room floor and the sale man trying get us buy a new car, my son say he doesnt want any of them the saleman asked why. he said "because they are all too slow" the sale man asked "which one is fast then?" he then pointing out the window....... well lets pics do all the talking lololol
