Headlight igniter dead at 241k miles, replace igniter or entire setup?
Passenger side HID igniter recently died, confirmed by swapping between driver and passenger side while troubleshooting. Car is already all taken apart and removing the bumper was kind of a pain. Car has 241k miles on it and everything is original (props to Acura!). I am trying to decide whether to just throw a used replacement igniter in there for $25 and hope nothing else dies in the near future, or to spend a little money and put a brand new aftermarket kit in (new ballasts, igniters, and bulbs) so that I hopefully to have to pull the bumper and replace something else within the next year. I plan to keep the car for at least another year or so (gotta hit a quarter million miles) and then possibly give it to my brother if everything is still running by that time. Any advice on which path is recommended?

stick with OEM on this car.

You'd definitely notice a luminosity increase! While it's out, might as well really!

All Depends on your budget:
https://www.theretrofitsource.com/components/bulbs.html
~50 can get you some good quality Morimoto bulbs
~90 can get you some regular Osram
110 and you can get some awesome CBI Osram (the king of d2s HID bulbs in my opinion)
There's also similarly priced Phillips alternatives.
