07-08 oem rear cam install on 06 Tl
What's Up Acurazine!!! I Haven't been on for a very long time. Just wondering if anyone out there has attempted to install oem rear cam for 07-08 on an 06 base with nav? I also have the Doms unit if that helps. I bought the license plate housing, Cam, and the complete harness from the cam to the dvd drive. Is it a plug and play? any diy for this will be greatly helpful. I tried to search for it but nothing pops up. Thank you all in advance!!!

I was about to attempt this install because I also have a 07 OEM rear camera in handy and I have a navtool installed.
From what I've gathered from wiring diagrams, you should be able to find which wire powers the camera and which wire feeds the video through.
The power wire would presumably go to the reverse lights so that when the reverse lights are on, the camera gets power.
Then the video wire you would need to solder to a RCA plug and that would go to the VIDEO IN of your doms nav2go unit.
I should have the diagram somewhere.
The reason why I didn't go with the project was because I currently have an esky ec170-06 installed, and the quality of this camera is MUCH better than OEM, and more hidden.
The only downside and it's a big one, is that it takes a lot of time testing to have the camera sit and display perfectly straight and even.
What I might plan to do in the future but I doubt it, is to gut the OEM camera housing and stick the esky camera inside.

I bought the Navtool on ebaY for about $154. Camera was $15. It was plug 'n play (not plug 'n pray) and about an hour's install for Paul, our miracle mechanic in NJ.
