I looked at your website. Maybe I missed it, but not obvious what major repair was performed so far? Engine? Transmission? Coolant system? A/C?

That's amazing.. I should buy one for DD! They can be had for pretty damn cheap. Wonder which one would last longer, AT vs MT.

M/T would last a very long time... as long as you don't mind changing the clutch out every couple hundred thousand miles.

On a population level, MT cars may likely last longer (though people who buy MT cars may be more adept at proper driving and more maintenance...which can confound the results....)

Though on an individual level, it's obviously going to be tied to individual maintenance, proper driving techniques, and luck.

Looks like this is a 2005 5AT Honda transmission (I'm guessing same one used in the base TL as well?) ...which on paper wouldn't last that long with all the glass transmission reputation in this era for Honda....but as it is obvious with good maintenance, lots of easy highway driving and bit of luck it can last a damn long time!

My 06 TL 5AT is a 191,000 miles now and so far no major issues and I'll be super happy if it can get close to 300k miles!

High maintenance costs overall, but it sounds like you went to the dealership for everything. A lot of those I think you'd have been able to easily do yourself (though I assume it was a time thing, and you likely get reimbursed for mileage, so the cost is a wash)

You nailed it. My time is more valuable behind the wheel. I get paid mileage. Plus the dealer gives me a loaner.

Congrats to you , Acura and the K series motor 😁

That amazes me to see a Acura with such amount of miles. Hopefully on day it'll it 999,999 wonder what would happen if it'll roll over or what.

Goes to show you as long as you take care of your car and kept up with the maintenance and use good parts overall a car can last that long although it also depends on many other factors some being how the driver mod is and condition of the roads / climate where the car is most of it's life.

Congrats and the overall condition of your TSX is amazing, looks like it has 53k miles and not 530k.
Engine bay is also in excellent condition, I try to keep the engines as clean as the rest of the car.

Other factors play into this for sure, but not a ton in my case. I live in Idaho, I've driven it in ALL weather conditions, ALL types of roads, I've had her over 100mph more times that I can count, red lined her more time than I can count. Life has not been easy on this car. Granted, it's not like this all day every day. A very good percentage has been gravy freeway driving. I'm putting another 350 miles on her today. 97% freeway. I think the biggest factor is proper maintenance.

Man that is epic. People always give me crap for buying foreign and only Honda's and Acura's. This is proof and a great thing to see. My dad put 1,000,000 miles on his 1984 Honda Accord driving to and from San diego to Simi Valley every day for 25 years.
