I'm here for a number of reasons:
  1. I want Acura to do well
  2. I want to see what this community has to say about the ins and outs of the industry
  3. Tacobello
  4. Help people understand the car decisions I made and help them make their own
Not sure if that's trolling.

seriously, we aren't asking Acura for a lot. I think it's clear the ship has sailed on the current sedan line up, and Acura has even admitted themselves that they know the sedans are an issue.

My hope is that with the 2G TLX (we need to stop calling it the 5G and soon to be 6G TL), the 2G RLX and 2G ILX will have great improvements. I don't expect them to be class leading. I don't know if Acuras ever really were, overall (I'm some areas, yes, but overall? No.) but also, what the industry was 20-30 years ago, isn't what the industry is today. I just want them to be competitive again. To be noticed again. I want them to sell plenty of sedans- of every sedan.

Honda did good with the current Accord and the Civic. They totally flipped the market upside down with the new civic, offering more than the competition. We are now hearing rumours of a new s2000 appearing in 2018, which again, sounds like Honda knows how much is riding on its shoulders, set to come out for Honda's 70th anniversary.

But unfortunately, I don't expect many changes from Acura, for at least 2 more years. After that, maybe it will be their time to shine again. So... It's two more years mediocrity and dissapointment.

I dont even know if Saintor even owned an acura before the 3-series...
All I remember 7 years ago was Saintor defending the 3-series...ESP this ESP that..ESP will save. ESP is the best thing. ESP is awesome...

if so fuggin awesome, why come back to Acura?
(and I dont want too, but I will if I have to pull up all of those threads again.)

So wait... He joined an Acura forum, without owning an Acura, to tell everyone how awesome BMW is?

no, he must have had an acura at one point...join date 2001.
but when I joined in 2010 he was arguing with EVERYONE about how his BMW is superior to Acura...
what the fuck happened?
why flip-flop between brands?

I understand if one is a car person and wants to try as many brands as possible...BUTT that's not what he's doing.
he's arguing till he's blue that the current car he has is the best!
a band-wagoneeer!

so my question is out of curiosity.
why come back and argue that the TLX is awesome, when you said the same damn thing about the BMW?

also, we throw around this phrase when talking about music and sports...the GOAT, or the Greatest Of All Time...
I think we can all collectively agree that Acura isn't the GOAT

just me though.
So what? They took styling ques from other manufacturers that have decent looking designs. At least they have a Design that looks good, Unlike Acura which for reasons that escape most all of us cant quite peace the front of a vehicle together.

They should just go ahead and hand over car design to Honda and see what they come up with. I know it's all the same company, but I can't believe the designer of the Accord and Civic is responsible for the Acura duds.

From my recollection, am pretty sure he had a 1G TSX. But I don't remember him being quite so SSFTSX~like at the time.

Based on that, probably. I know... at your discharge, Audi forums are even more boring than Acura's.

*Just looking at other recent posts*.

Any other not-dumb question worth answering?

*Nope.*

it's also worse than I thought.

a simple google search reveals that you were arguing against acura dating back to at least 2003.
your credibility is getting weaker and weaker by the minute

*Sounds better now.*

But... why not?

I am not tied to any brand. Owned 6 Mazda, 3 Hondas, 5 VWs/Audis, 2 BMWs.... and few others....oh! I forgot, ONE Acura too.

I won't hide that, past '90s, BMW was and is still my favorite brand in that group. Yet I would certainly buy again my TLX over a F30 of less than 50K. Very good car, no matter the perpetual bashers. I don't care much about the Acura brand. They hit a rock bottom in 2009-2011, in both offerings and sales, now recovering. My car could have been an Honda Vigor instead of Acura TLX, 'don't mind.

Ooops. Can't edit, but 5 not 6 Mazda. 1987 323, 1987 626 Turbo, 1992 MX3GS V6, and 2 Protegé (1997 scrapped txs to my spouse lol and a 1998)

EDIT:... sorry that was really 6!.... my first used car was a 1972 RX-2

and no no one is putting words in your mouth. We found your own words, dating back to 2003… or did someone hack your account 15 years ago and make stuff up? Yeah... Yeah, I'm sure that's it.

Help isn't fun. It's informative. Your blathering is neither fun nor informative. Now get off your mom and dad's computer and go to bed.

Given that you are the undisputed king of thread derails, I should think you would be a little more discrete in leveling that accusation at others lest you look like a shameless hypocrite. In short, I really think you should just shut the hell up.

If we banned on those merits alone there would be just a handful of people left here. So no, we cant, but we all know at least one person, if not more who we would like to ban. I mean dont you think ssftsx would have gotten it by now

Fair enough. Dissenting opinions are healthy. If only his arguments were any good.

Ban him too lol.

I see your point but it's annoying as fvck to constantly go off topic in every thread. Next up in the new Ferrari 488 thread, why the TLX is a better car!

One does wonder, however, whether a "habitual offender" rule might make sense...

I thought constant thread derailment is a bannable offense, no? I don't mind a thread changing direction, or random jokes being thrown in, but full on derailments, time and time again do get old.
