05 TL Thermostat Issue?

When I turn on my AC, it blows super cold. However, if I want to raise the temp, it will not change until I raise it all the way to HI. After the heat has kicked in on HI, I can bring the temp down again to something in the middle. I bought the car used in 2011 and it has always behaved this way.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Is car warm? Heating fans are running?

If car is not warm it will not start fans in auto mode. Where's the temp gauge after a while?

You can also do the self test of the hvac unit. Do you have nav or non navigation model?

For the self test for non nav go to ;

It's huge guess from my side, but you can check if heater valve is operating correctly.

There's screen from the manual, don't do regulation just yet, just check if it moves (opens) when you turn heating on.

Thanks, Peter! It's a Nav model. I think I found some threads that zero in on this issue, but they're on my laptop so I have to look them up. It seems to be a problem many people have encountered.

For reference, here's the other thread I found describing this issue:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...rm-air-870908/

Page 2 of the thread has some great info along with links to the Service Manual. As described, I'm going to investigate the air mix motor as being the culprit and will post back when I get to it.
