Acura TL sh awd on BC racing coilovers
What's up guys. Does anyone one here have or know of anyone who installed BC coilovers BR Type on a 2010 Acura TL sh awd? I just recently had my mecanic install them and now the front end of the car is too low. The plastic guard under the engine is now touching the ground 😫😩. I asked the mechanic if I can raise them a bit he said he raised them to the max. I'm currently on the stock 18 rims so I was wonder (may sound stupid) but curious to know maybe when I install my 20" rims it'll lift up a bit more in the front ? If not any suggestions on what I can do ? Please help thanks

BC's are known to be low, but on their highest setting it shouldn't be that low! Maybe this video might help:

I use to have BC coilovers before I went air, my buddy currently has them on his 4G. I had the extreme lows included as well and I had no issues with being too low though I could lay frame if wanted. Your mechanic must not be raising it all the way. On both cars we removed the front plastic guard for better clearance. I had both 18's, 19's and 20's with no issues.
As for your 20's, they will raise it up a little but you could run into rubbing issues depending on your wheel specs. I had to roll the rears on my 10.5 +25. I can garauntee the coilovers raise more.

CarbonTsex thanks a lot bro that was really helpful. I was in the air about taking off the plastic guard under neath but that's really the only thing scraping when I get out the driveway and it sounds much worse inside the car lol i swear after I get off the driveway way I park the car just to see if my bumper is still there 😂😂. Maybe it won't be so bad if I take it off then out some 20's on it. Also quick question how the heck does anyone fit +25 offset when the car is made for 40-55 offset. Can't lie dk too much about it and I rather listen to the Acura shop and play it safe then do what I actually want. The mechanics around here won't recommend anything under 42 offset for me... what's the trick to getting them to fit ? Adding spacers after the lower offset ?

The shops around you recommend +40 to +55 because there isn't any work needed to get them to fit and you can run a standardized tire that fits properly depending on the width of your wheels.
hope that helps

Aww man thanks a lot bro! That was very informative and helpful for me I appreciate it bro. I'm probably just gonna run 255/35/20 all around still not sure in the offset but now atleast I know I can play around with offsets in the 30's maybe I can get a bit more of a concave look that I always wanted in the rear. Thought I had to let that idea go. I'm getting the axis verde v99 hard to find but I got someone who has them instock. And I'd personally like to get a lower offset in the rear for a nice deep or semi deep concave look. Last question I know it probably depends on the rim and stuff but generally what's a good offset to achieve a concave look ? Any idea ?

No way its touching the ground if it's raised all the way up, mine is not even touching the ground, and my non-extreme drop is 1.5inches before maxed out. So you probably want to find another shop

Na not the actually body work. But the splash guard protecting the engine is always scraping whenever I get into my driveway...when you lowered your car did you have to remove the splash guard aswell?

Removing the splash guards depends on the height. If it scrapes remove the front ones as the rears most likely clear still or just remove them all together. If you plan on getting the factory optional lip kit, you'll have to remove them anyway.

Ok cool. Yea probably take them all of seeing as I will be getting a lip kit. What about the kits which is better oem lip kit or RJ lip kit I like the RJ lip kit but a few members have said the quality for the price doesn't match and they've had issues with it actually staying on.

It's whatever kit you like. I haven't seen the RJ kit in person so hard to say how the quality is. Plus I believe it comes unpainted so that is another thing to keep it mind. You'd definitely be one of a few that would have that kit which I like. But you can't beat oem. Comes paint matched from the factory, install is straight forward and gauranteed to fit perfect.

Hey,
Just in case you hadn't heard it enough; if they're maxed out in height they should definitely be high enough to keep your splash guard from dragging on the ground (as long as it's not hanging off).
If this issue hasn't been resolved by now I definitely would take it to another shop. I had a customer call in yesterday from the waiting room of a shop where he was having Ingalls ball joints installed in his 2010 TL. After trying to press it in and costing the customer a control arm, the tech seemed to think it didn't fit. I had him send me some pictures and after looking at them it was clear they were trying to install them upside down, all as one piece, the issue was resolved and they were successfully installed. Just goes to show, not everyone knows what they're doing 100% of the time!
Good luck, and don't forget to check us out for your performance needs!

Hey thanks alt for responding back to this as i was having a lot of trouble with the mods I purchased. The first mechanic I took it too you were right CLEARLY lied because they were deffinitly NOT raised all the way up. Then I took the car toANOTHER mechanic to have my ingalls installed and HE DIDNT know what he was doing. He trying to charge me for the damage of the control he attempted to put the ingalls in and then I called up EXLR8 spoke to a guy name Craig and he was really helpful. Good guy. He was able to get the mechanic to understand they were UPSIDE DOWN!! Mechanic told me it's because he was trying to install them the way the original ball joint was placed however with the ingalls it goes in from underneath the control arm as they're already set up to literally install and go. Great product I will be picking my car up today because I had to leave it there for another day because the guy was never able to install them until Craig explained how it was done. (I called the mechanic today just to make sure everything was running smoothly and it is) thank god. So thanks again Craig I appreciate your help man. I will be seeing you soon for that full exhaust system pulled and j pipe soon!!

Yea I actually was able to get the coilovers straightened out. He was able to lift it up more allowing more ground clearance. I guess the other mechanic just didn't want to work on the car anymore and preferred to lie about not being able to raise it anymore. And as this was my first time I lowered a car I thought oh fuck is this the shit lowered cars deal with on the daily...lol but it's a lot better now. Just gotta get the negative camber issue in one tire straighten out and I'm good. Question, another memeber mentioned that some camber kits after installed fall out of place. How true is this with the ingalls?
