Ah so I was right about the blue color! It does look lighter, the current fathom blue is almost black. So far I'm really getting interested in the hype!!!!!! The transmission may be the only party pooper. Infortainment too, but at least it's functional on the current TLX, although dated.
Wasn't that powertrain picture just a list of their in-house transmissions though? The 9spd ZF is still being used in the MMC MDX and I don't see why they'd get rid of it as it functions perfectly in mine.
I highly doubt Acura will be putting a paint job on the TLX that they charge an additional $6000 for, on the NSX. Unless, of course, it's a 6000 dollar upgrade. Who in their right minds spends an extra 6k on a 30k car, just for some blue paint? I can't see Acura even offering something like that.
Saw these on TLXforums. I think the MMC is beginning to look promising.
The round exhaust looks much better than the exhaust on the car that was previously spotted and the grille doesn't look bad in that photo either.
Not sure if this was posted before, but saw it on Google:
This photoshop/image seems to be more related to the RLX vice the TLX. The Acura emblem is massive. Like they are bragging about something.... not sure what.

From this photo, it looks like the top of the grill may be aligned with the top of the headlights, which would be positive. I really bothers me on the 2017 MDX that the top of the grill is further up the hood than the headlights. It makes the grill look tacked on.
Now to get them to shrink the Acura emblem by about 1/3 and we may be in business as far as the front end is concerned.

Upon closer inspection the bumper appears to have wide exhaust openings slanted at the top. Perhaps they're actually quad tips, with the outer tips covered up? (though it wouldn't make sense for testing purposes, nor for safety)
Or maybe these are pre-production tips intended to throw us off, with the actual units being more like the '17 MDX (also wide and slanted at the top). What seems to be a rear diffuser may also be more like the MDX's rear "air curtains" (with a reflector instead of an air vent).
iforyou...what is the source of the pic of the TLX you posted? I know you said google but is it tied with a specific website? This is a photoshop correct? I have never seen Acura release a picture of any of their models until the official reveal - If this is a photoshop, it doesn't mean the TLX will look like that at all, as evident with the spy pics that shows the fog light while the pic you posted has no such possibility given the little piece of plastic where the fog light assembly would go.
It is just someone's rendering. Look at the front bumper- the spy shots show fog lights, where the above picture shows nothing of the like.
Though I must admit, I do like that rendering. I have a small gripe with it- the "A" badge at the front looks to be perfectly vertical- it looks tacked on. I think it it was angled a bit, it would look better. But again, this is just a rendering, so no big deal.
Also, as seismic guy just stated, I don't think the TLX will have that many LED thingies in it.
It looks more like the civic lower end, or ILX lower end, than the bmw. Then again, plenty of automakers are having the same lower end these days, with those big black rectangles, under the headlights.

I'm just happy to see some positive buzz - hopefully the worm has turned here.
As a side note - I got an email from my dealer telling me they can get me into a 2016 for the same monthly rate and, mind you, this is a pretty exclusive offer to only their best customers.
I emailed them back and said yes, if they can do that (my car is paid for so my monthly payment is ZERO) then I'll be over - otherwise I see no upside in paying to move to a car that is identical to my current ride. The sales manager emailed back and apologized, saying they sent me the wrong email. Indeed.
Anyways - I hope the MMC is crap so I don't have even the remotest desire to trade in

Thing is if you look closer all three rectangles have heat exchangers behind them. PS - Oil Cooler, Center - Turbo Intercooler, DS - Secondary Coolant Radiator. Vertical Slots at outer edges - Aero Intakes. They are a big design element now but are functional on the original cars to use the style.. Think Lexus now wins the most exaggerated outer sections.
My 2011 335is one generation earlier than my current car had almost the same look & as part of the M-Sport "is" package they were also functional.

LOL. Thats a good one. I'm in the same boat. Get those in the mail all the time, but my car is paid for. I always just smile thinking about walking in, and saying yes, sign me up for one with the exact payment structure I have now, then my wife asks me why I am standing there smiling like an idiot, I snap back to reality, and chuck it into the recycle bin!!
New grill seems nice, but I color matched my front shield, and don't mind the look at all. Bought this car for DD duties for the next few years, so it's not going anywhere. That color remins me of my Aegean Blue Type-S though....I do love Honda/Acura blues.
Everything remains the same, just the next model year. Same 2.4L, same 3.5L, same 8-spd, same 9-spd, but new front & rear, wheels, exhaust tips, and a couple of other small touches including an A-Spec package put together as on the 2016+ ILX.
Take a look at how the MDX went from 2016 to 2017, and that's exactly how the TLX will go from 2017 to 2018. There's consideration of a Type S model, but it's more of a rendering right now than anything, without a powertrain, etc. ready to go with it.
* shaking my head * Pathetic.....sooooooo pathetic!
I am throwing the towel on Acura - Fuck the brand! If they can't get their shit together, they don't deserve any success and I am almost now rooting they'll fold.
...and while we are all annoyed with them, I can only imagine what dealers and people who are depending and relying on these wing nuts to make a living and bring home the bacon! I would be embarrassed to be a salesperson and trying to defend Merek's styling cues.
I am a bit reluctant to buy that there are minor changes, solely based upon the white camouflage on the left front fender where a Hybrid badge would be. That's where they put it on the Accord. So...

Thank you for your updates-appreciate the "inside word" that you always provide. While it would be nice to see that the 9 speed transmission was replaced realistically that was always a dream and not going to be a reality. I guess we have to wait for the model changeover in 2019 (2020 model).

This is in line with what Nexx mentioned some time back. TOV has lots of talk about MMC getting 2.0T. We will wait and see. What about sport hybrid just like MDX?
If all they can bring is damn cosmetic changes I am done with this brand. Been waiting for a Type-S too long. I can't do it anymore. I'm into my third year on the lease and simply haning on to reduce the negative equity. Will still take a hit but it's time to move on. TLX has been the worst Acura I've owned. It's just a cheap watered down version of what TL should've been. This brand keeps striving at going backwards. They need to fire Marek ASAP and just start over...
You need to be really stupid or absolutely adamant to continue using 9zf. Just becasue newer versions are better than 2015 ones does not mean it is a good transmittion vs competition which mainly uses 8zf. Recent reviews of 2017 MDX SHAWD point to that fact. On other hand, look at recent reviews of Ridgeline, every one was happy with 6AT.

Yeah. I'll be interested to see how this one shakes out.
Wow that's a real bummer that there are no powertrain upgrades. I"m really disappointed, I wanted to trade in my TLX this summer for the 2018 model in hopes of a better engine (or just transmission). But I think the car can still stay somewhat competitive with just cosmetic upgrades. The 290hp isn't the problem, it's that 9spd that needs to go!
While I love getting 37mpg on the highway, I'd be perfectly happy with 30mpg and a transmission that doesn't have horrible throttle tip-in and limits power. I think Acura needs to realize that those going for the V6 likely care more for the driving experience, and can sacrifice some mpgs for better performance.
