Transmission reving high/ 07 Tl..Help!

Hey everyone I hope some of you guys can give me some feedback or information about this problem I am having.

Recently my 2007 Acura Tl auto has been reving high on 2nd. 3, and ( 4th I'm thinking). When I drive it seems to have trouble making the shift into the next gears. You can kind of feel that pull in when trying to make shift. It revs up to 3000 rpms or higher sometimes. This problem only happens sometimes not all the time (about a month) so that's why I wanted to ask you guys if I can fix or prevent this problem from happening. My car has about 93 000km.

Should I get a transmission fluid change? 1x3 or 3x3? not sure what that means or if it's safe to do? Or is there any parts in the transmission I should get replaced or fixed? anything at this point to save this transmission!!

Thank you for reading!

Check the transmission fluid; amount, color, smell.

What you mean by trouble making shifts? Just long delay between or it stays longer in gear than it should? Long delay/rough shift can be fixed with replacing pressure switches. It's about $140 in parts and relatively easy to DIY if you have tools.

Try manual shifting, you can upshift as soon as it lets you to third/forth gear and floor it to check it if holds. If it is slipping it might very too late, but I don't have much experience in this case.

change your fluid and replace the pressure switches also let me help you with the AZ terminology.

Each time you perform drain the old fluid and refill at 3 quarts, this is know as 1x3 (1 time refill with 3 quarts) if you perform drain and refill multiples time then it will be (2x3, 3x3, 4x3, 5x3). I did a 5x3 before replacing the pressure switches.

It should be 3.3 quarts actually.

And the thread about replacing switches :

Thanks for the useful information, great help. Can the dealership do this? I can probably do it myself but just in chase. Thanks again

Hey Peter thanks for replying back. Sorry yes it's more of a longer delay and rough shift. Should I get the transmission fluid changed and the pressure switches done asap?

Yes I definitely would. If you wait too long and the slipping/holding gear begins occuring more frequently it could lead to damaged internal components from parts being under stress they were not meant to handle.

On the other hand, do not worry! It takes time for damage to occur. Definitely do it as soon as you can, but don't stress over it.

Im with the others on this, my car has considerably more mileage than yours (158,000km), and its on 07, so I envy how low your mileage is!
I recently noticed that my car has been shifting "abruptly", doesn't exactly hold in gear, but I think they are similar symptoms as your experiencing.
I will be getting my pressure switches done shortly as well, not in a rush to do it though.
If you plan on getting yours done soon, there was a thread posted on here recently that has the updated part numbers for the switches, and I have a local shop in Burnaby that I can recommend for you to get your work done if you don't want to DIY...

and post some pics of your car man! at 93,000km its prob mint!

Yes the dealership can perform this, You can ask for drain and fill. I would do drain and fill every oil change interval for 3 times before replacing the switches, doing this to get most the old dirty fluid out.

I was wondering how many switches there are to change or if there is more then one is others more important?
