Service Indicator and VSA light....

I looked at a TL last night locally and found that the Service Indicator was on (looked like below)...

He said it was due for an oil change. But, there was some other light on the left side, and I can't remember what it was, but wasn't a check engine light or VSA (I don't think).
Any idea what it could be or what I need to look into? May be buying the car tonight and want to make sure it's nothing serious.
Regular service indicator is no biggie, but need to know if something more I need to look into.

Any ideas?

It was VSA (!) light. I also have "mushy" brake pedal, so I think the two are related. Any insight appreciated.

A12 is: oil and oil filter change, rotate tires, replace engine air filter, replace cabin filter. and inspect components for broken or worn parts.

and then you should probably change the brake fluid as well.

If he's due for oil change (40 bucks?) and filters (next 40?) who knows what else is due? Or what else wasn't ever done. I would pass. Or get this car to some trusted mechanic and get it checked really good. Then you can argue about price knowing service/repair cost.

doesnt that come up at specific mileage intervals for recommended service?

The VSA and ! mark could be a wheel bearing problem. Was any work done on the car recently? Specifically involving removable of an axle or so?

I had those two lights come on when reinstalled my axle and hit the wheel bearing. There's a magnetic strip on it for the ABS sensor.

..
Now that I think of it, it may have been the ABS and ! light I had on.
How many miles on the car?

ok, I found my old notes and it was the ABS /VSA/ and ! that was on for me.
Changing the wheel bearing fixed it.

I bought the car last night. Needed a car and this was the best thing I could find for the money (fingers crossed it was a good purchase)... Time will tell on that one.

It's had the major service items addressed, including a timing belt, water pump, motor mounts all in the last 9k miles and the vehicle has only 108k miles on it.
He also had a receipt for a power steering pump, and said he did some sort of transmission fluid /filter change or some sort of service on it, but didn't have the receipt for that.
It drives fine and shifts smoothly (no hard 1-2 shift or odd vibrations).

The VSA and (!) are on, but didn't notice it right away as it came on as I drove it.

The wheel bearing could be the issue as one (or, possibly both) of the rear wheel bearings is getting noisy. Not horrible, but it's on the list of things I'll need to address before winter.
If that ends up fixing it, I'll be stoked! This could be good news!

The alarms you are seeing are most likley to be either the mass air flow sensor OR the APP sensor.

Follow this DIY and check back in - this is a common diagnosis and fix in these parts.
