Done

I had the Acura TL Type s for almost a year and going to have to admit the best sedan I ever had even comparing to the Mercedes C300 I had in the past.

I sold this car last week @ 67K miles.

This car inspired me to move on to get another sedan which is F80 that I placed in my order yesterday.

8-10 weeks for delivery

2017 F80
6MT
Yas Marina Blue

Thanks all, may come back again in the future.

So much want AND it's a manual!

What the hell do you do at 25 years old to afford that?

Sick car. Congrats. Were you at least tempted to get the DCT?

Not even one bit.

The market is FLOODED with DCT.

You want to be more in control and engaged in the car especially this one I have is coming with M Performance exhaust.

My previous 135is was a 6MT and there was not one point I even think about DCT.

I think the M4 is a little bit too big for me to be a coupe. If I ever wanted a coupe it would be a E92 instead.

Also, the sedan is much more practical, that the whole reason why I switched from a coupe to a TL-Type S.

I'm always looking for that extra couple tenths, even though I love manuals. I've heard BMW's DCT is amazing although obviously less engaging than the manual.

And honestly, I think the M3 is better looking than the M4.

2 series is a more proper sized two door anyway.

^^^^ BMW DCT so amazing that they gona take a retirement at 70k miles. I test drove couple M3 back then and the 60k or under has amazing shifting but the 70k or more has shitty shift.

If a trans can't last more than 70k miles it's not a good trans.

The problem with the DCT/PDK/DSGs are they REQUIRE maintenance. For instance the DSG on the Audi's require a complete flush and service every like 30k or something. And it's like $500. That's one of the reasons I went with a manual. Much less to break.

It's a 40k interval on the Audi/VW DSG, and it is expensive, but worth it if you're looking for a profound performance increase over the 6MT in the S3/Golf R.

drove my coworker 2013 535i with 7spd DCT with 15k miles on the clock. Power delivery is amazing (no power loss during up shift), come to find out the BMW DTC replacement cost around $15k. This is the reason why I would rather buy a used ISF over an M3

Trust me, I would definitely get a ISF if it had 6speed.

M3's all out better than the isf and it comes in stick. I'd gladly take the chance and get the m3 instead, than settle for an isf due to fear of maintenance.

The driving experience makes it oh so worth it.

Ah yes, that word "practical". Same excuse i used to buy a 335i sedan after the TL and i honestly regret it. I dont have a family, thus i dont need a 4 door. Im young & free, coupe life is what i should have chosen.

Been looking for a coupe to trade it in for but have been unsuccessful. Thought about a slightly used m4 but i want to buy a house first.

I unno man, coupes make you feel like batman. Nothing is of more importance than feeling like batman when driving but if you say the m3 is the way to go then more power to you.

Keep this thread updated.

its not fear of maint, its just I have better place to spend money on instead of pouring into maint a used car. Driving experience isn't jack while DCT goes into limp mode, even a corolla will flash their headlight and tell your bimmer move over.

You're right man, a lot of things could go wrong, or who knows, you could be lucky and have zero issues, I'd take that chance than settle for a lesser car, but that's just me though.

It'd eat me alive if i was in an isf even though i wanted an m3 and one just drives past me lol. Id rather have the m3 and if it goes then, it goes. Ah well, was fun while it lasted.

This. After almost 9 years of really good luck and reliability with an Acura, I'm more than willing to take a gamble on something German, something fun, something with soul. You only live once.

If i could afford it, i would much rather have a true German sports car for the driving experience alone instead of settling for a "reliable" decent performing car like the RC-F.

I'd take the new M3/M4 over the RC-F.

I really like the M2.

I'm seriously considering an M235. You can pick up a year old one for around 40k. JB4, intake, and DP and you have a seriously quick and fun car. It's not too far behind an e46 M3 in terms of driving dynamics and it's faster; much faster with the aforementioned mods.

Only ballers mod new German cars. Keeping the warranty is 1000% worth it.

I have. I kind of like the quirky styling, but the 235 looks better with a drop and spacers.

Piggybacks like the Juice Boxes from Burger Tuning aren't traceable and can be pulled in a matter of minutes. Intakes are usually a twenty minute job on most German cars; down pipes are a bit more time consuming.

As long as you find a mod friendly dealer and refrain from re-flashes you can maintain a warranty. VW/Audi flags "TD1" on a reflashed car supposedly even if it's been flashed back to stock. The data goes directly to corporate, so even if it's a mod friendly dealer, it doesn't matter. If you blow a turbo and they see you were running another 8psi from a Eurodyne tune, you're screwed.
