Agreed, those wheels & the steering wheel are plain sex.
I'd say, this is exactly how I want my build to go. How long will it take for me to get there? Great question
K04s w/ bolt-ons + Tune is where it's at.

We'll settle for OEM wheels for the time being though

Isn't that my steering wheel? Just CFed and suede wrapped? Or is it a oe RS5 wheel? Looks the same minus the aesthetics. I assume none of those buttons work for him either. Lol
Edit: Doh, theater mode + 1080 = S4 steering wheel. Same thing.

Looks very similar indeed, I love the meatiness & flat bottom steering wheel - the carbon fiber accents are a nice touch, too
I have plans for this car with money set aside, but I'm afraid it's not enough for doing the build all at once. It'll make a lot more work in the long-run as everything on this car is easier to do when the engine is pulled; turbos, clutch, gaskets, timing belt & water pump service, etc, but in my case it'll have to be do it in phases because I don't want the car out of commission for months on end.
Phase 1: Timing belt w/ all gaskets done - $1,000-ish
Phase 2: Clutch replacement - $1,000-ish
Phase 3: Engine pull, attach Borg Warner K04s / intercooler upgrade / inlets / bolt-ons / tune - $3,500-ish (without labor)
Of course, these prices are all speculative and this would be on the cheap side.
After seeing a handful of DIYs on the interwebs, I plan on doing the engine pull with the help of a few friends when that time comes. They're much more mechanically inclined than I am (diesel mechanics), so I'm sure they'll be a wealth of knowledge & help.
Stay tuned guys, progress will be slow .. but it'll be good when it's all said & done

buys S4 and is totally willing to drop $5500 on engine work. Doesn't want to spend $150 on OEM wheels.

Did you lol while sending the funds electronically to the now ex-owner of the OEM wheels? Just curious.

would you buy it if we set up a gofundme account for you?
The condition is you will have to pick up the wheels on your own and no towing provided if you get stuck.

Does it have to be in one trip? The S2000 can carry two wheels at once. No way the Audi is going to meet your conditions.

At first I could have lived without them, but now they're starting to grow on me
It would look great with a drop .. I just don't know if that's going to happen, ever.
5 spoke wheels never go out of style IMO.

OEM wheels never go out of style either, as a wise man once told me.

August at the earliest. Things at our plant in TJ are going well though so it all depends on if there's a crisis that I need to get on a plane for or not. I'll let you know! I'd love to see it.

Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!
Today was great, it really was. Jin's quality of work & attention to detail is phenomenal, couldn't be happier with the finished product.
Also, thanks for popping Jawknee and I's ACH cherry
