Installed rear view camera

This past weekend I finally got around to installing my rear view camera used my NavTool along with an ebay rear camera.

I had my friend install it for me everything worked out smooth took a little while to do but overall I could not be happier.. I had noticed that their weren't many recent camera installs on here I dont have many pictures but overall I couldn't be happier. It engages rather quickly I do not need to wait for the interface to load, the camera is good quality the guidelines are very accurate in terms of feet.

Couple pictures to show it

Nice work. The image quality is better than the OEM camera for sure. The guide lines make it look even better.

where did you buy your review camera? I thought that couldn't be done in the 05 RL but in the 06 it was an option.

For the MY 05 RL, it's not possible with the stock DVD to add back up camera. You'll need Navtool in order to do this. Very straight forward install. Only thing needed is back up camera and Navtool module.

without Navtool this cant be done, you tap into the back of the navigation in the trunk , run some wires splice a couple wires and done.. it took about 2 hours to do not many hiccups but u wanna do it right.
camera I got off ebay ill post a link later

I suppose on an 09 all i gotta do is replace the camera. could u post the cam u bought. in daylight this rear cam is most of the time un-viewable. it's as if its too bright. and colors are faded.

Rear View Camera 07 RL

With car under recall I have been spoiled with the rear view camera in car I picked up from Enterprise - anyone know of an upgrade for my 07 RL?

I have tech. I'm wondering if this is one of those navtool swaps with the addition of the camera part from a tech, or if the car comes pre-wired and it's just a matter of swapping the chrome trim and adding the camera?

My guess is if u have navigation, u have nav tools. but i dunno.

Jack, you seriously have to stop pressing "new thread" any time you have a question. It is against the rules to not even attempt a search and create redundant threads. I have merged more of your threads than anyone else's at least 2 fold.

This is serious. This is a warning. Stop or you will get a ban.

I am currently in talk with a person in Hongkong purchasing a attachment kit for the camera which is the part #08B21-SNB-B00 for $1000 HK or $130 US. This attachment uses this Acura RL camera 08A21-6H2-360. Order will take 3-4 weeks since its will be ordered to Japan.

Hello friends.

I have a rear-view camera from a Legend. Is it suitable to install on a 2G RL?

There is no direct camera replacement that we know of here. Besides that, I doubt any replacement would enough improvement over stock to justify the cost.
