Paving? Like asphalt paving? or like paving stones?

Paving stones look nice, but to do them right takes a lot of effort, in terms of leveling them and making sure weeds don't start poking through. I'm surprised you'd want that in Cali though... wouldn't it get crazy hot to walk on that surface?

I want to extend our deck... We've got this really awkward nook between the deck and the garage. It'd be perfect for a square deck add on. That way we could separate dining and lounge shit...

On the right... I want to hack the railing on the right of those stairs away...make the stairs wrap around a bit. And then they lead down to a lowered deck. It's a 16x16 foot square space. BTW this pic was taken by the previous owner before we bought the house.

The wall that would be to the far right of that pic, which is the backside of the garage, is huge and flat. I want to eventually setup a projector for that wall and throw OSU football parties out there.

We have the community pool. I don't want to deal with maintaining my own. Plus I'm black, I can't swim.

I have paving stones in my back, it's not too bad. But I actually want to rip it up. And just do cement. I'm having some root issues with a tree making the pavers lift, so I need to address that.

I need to figure out what to do with my Stamped concrete as well, it's turning white. I was reading on the DIY forum that the sealant may have went bad.

I want a ceiling fan outside. I already have misters, in the picture you can already see the concrete turning white.

You have lights there already Flippy, you can just run some conduit to a junction box and and install a ceiling fan

Built a deck last year, first major home project.

Took awhile, but I did it myself, 14x18....seriously considered 16x18, but that would have cut too much in to the room the kids would have to play.

Need to put some finishing touches on it this year. Great addition to any house though.

I love the RS, and I'm not talking Rockstar.

I thought I added more to the post. There not my bolt pattern size. Plus, they would cost me 3k.... Fugg that.... I don't have 3K to spend on wheels. I'm about to just find some used Vossens or get Vossen reps.

They are a bit too high.

My fault for using pre-fab risers, instead of cutting them myself.

it was definitely a learning experience for the next one.

My wife asked me to put a piece in the middle of the stair rails for our daughter, and I want to finish the railing along the fence side, because I like symmetry.

It's redundant to do the railing there, but, it's going to happen, and I think it will look better.

No, seriously, I used 2x10's for the risers.....she is used to it now, but it's a bit of a stretch for an adult.

There is definitely rom for improvement, but, for being my first DIY deck, pretty happy with it, and it's held up through the winter, which was my biggest concern.

Probably going to stain it this year as well, give it a bit more of a rich colour.

Those stairs have caught a few people off guard a couple of times when they have tried to step up quickly.....

Next project is to repaint the main floor powder room. Spent the weekend using the palm sanding to get the red paint smoothed out......

So many home projects on the list this year......
