high beam to driving light

high beam to driving light
does anyone know how to rewire our high beam so that it is turned into a driving light? I wanted to do this, since im getting a retro fit done with bi-xenon projectors, where our low beams are...
also if anyone knows how to wire up our "fogs" so that they turn off with high beams
thanks

as for turning high beams into DRL, you'd either have to do the canada DRL conversion, which i think involves a new ECU or multiplex. It might be easier to try something with a relay and tapping into a constant 12V power source.
and the 03 CL doesnt have any fogs/road lamps. only the 01/02 does unless you did a conversion.

A standard Bosch 4 pin relay. You need two of them. One takes 12v from your battery, the other takes switched 12v from your side marker lights. When the car turns on, the high beams turn on in DRL mode, when you turn on the side marker lights, the DRLs turn off.

Run the bulbs in series to cut the voltage in half. Positive from the relay to positive on one bulb, negative from that bulb to positive on the other, negative on that bulb to ground.

Road Lamps to LED DRL
1. Remove frt bumper to rad support plastic cover. Held on by expansion clips (bitch clip).
2. DRL new power wire. Tap into the Motor Mount Solenoid's black/yellow ignition hot wire. Run power wire from Solenoid to left Road Lamp's red/green wire.
You need to cut the red/green wire so it doesn't power the other running lamps.
Once cut, cap the car side red/green wire off so it doesn't short to ground.
The lamp/socket side's red/green wire is connected to the Solenoid's black/yellow wire for powering the DRL.
No need to add a fuse. The black/green wire is already fused.
The ground/black wire is use as is. No need to modify.
3. Buy couple of Philips 921 LED lamps. You will replace the OEM 194 bulbs with the new Philips 921 LEDs.
The new bulbs are 1/16" larger in circumference than the road lamp's socket opening so you will need to file the socket opening larger by 1/16" until the 921 bulbs can slid into the road lamps without resistance/contact.
It's important to make sure the bulb clears the opening so the bulb doesn't get stuck when removing or replacing in the future or the bulb could fall off during removal and fall inside the lamp.
Use a half round mini file to do the filing.
Now the left side is finish.
Right Side DRL
1. Tap into the Solenoid to the left road lamp power wire and run it to the left side's road lamp.
2. Ream the left road lamp socket opening so the 921 LED bulb fits into the lamp just as noted above the the right road lamp.
3. The wiring is the same as the left side road lamp except it has 2 red/green OEM power wires going to the road lamp's connector/socket.
So cut the 2 red/green wires. On the car side reconnect the 2 red/green wires back together so it's now one wire (looped). Remember, these 2 wires were already connected together from the factory at the road lamp's socket. You are just reconnecting it so the right HID will work as normal.
The red/green 2 cut wires on the lamp/socket side. Cap off one wire red/green wire so it doesn't short to ground.
The other red/green wire is connected to the Solenoid's power wire to power the DRL.
Black ground wire is used as is. No need to modify.
FINISH. That's all there is to it.
Tips
To remove the road lamps. There is one philips screw inboard of the road lamp. To access the screw you need to go through the bumper's grill. There is a small half moon cut out for it. Unscrew untill it spins free (screw stays in place).
Once screw is loose pry on the lamps inboard edge. Inbetween the lamp housing and the bumper gap. Don't pry on the lens.
Wires. Route the wires by following the cruise control cable and the drop through the lamp baffle down to the road lamps prr both sides. Run the wire inbetween the headlamp and rad support brace, not inbetween the radiator and rad support brace.
Use removable connectors at the road lamps for service ability.
Use removable T taps also for service ability.
Motot Mount Solenoid

DRL ignition switched power source (black/yellow).
Enlarged lamp socket.

^ Corrected, I got the right n left lamps mixed up.
