afr were 11.5-12.1 around there but we figured it was safe until i can get the engine tuned
yup stock everything

idk a vacuume one and 2step colder plugs.
Hell yeah we can do 3 at shady side.
I have a port now I just want to be able to tune the car and keep the port.
I need a tuning solution now.
The pulley I put on is showing 7-8psi and I can't even really get on it or it gets crazy lean and I'm not blowing up my engine.
Need a tuning solution NOW!!!
With some fuel the car will be fast as shit.
RP I would like to see what kinda times I can put down, nothing serious. Will probably be mid May before I will have time to get down there, school is keeping my busy. Hit me up if you decide to head down to the track, I can probably get Boostedorbusted to come as well. It would be cool to have 3 blown CL/TLs at the track together.
From what I have found to keep your OBD2 working you have to piggy-back with Blue e-mange or AEM(boomslang harness has to be modified), up grade to 3gen tl and run Hondata (pain in the d***), or lastly splice in a stand alone an feed the stock ECU the right info to keep it happy.
I've been rocking ESM for about 50K now and haven't had any problems but a tune would sure make things nice! I've got a Blue e-manage but can't find anyone that has tuned one around here and I am pretty sure I will have to run larger injectors to be able to reap any benefits from it.
Why is your OBD port not working now? Thought you did a true 6speed swap?

You can always swap your FPR(1:1) for an FMU(10:1) like comptech uses in there kits, it keeps you safe but does not give much fine adjustability. Cant find the link at the moment but someone was advertising an AEM standalone with wiring to plug and play with the true 6-speed wiring, this would let you put the factory ECU in to get your inspection then switch back or use a piggy-back. Either way you will need bigger injectors for any option besides FMU. Tuning is the hardest part about messing with these motors.

Looks like it on for some Boosted fun at Shady side!!!
Are you still wheel hopping with the TLs wheels and sticky tires Justin?
RP I've got a Boomslang CLs 6peed harness for Greddy E-Manage laying around if you decide to go that route.

After the initial install, only pickle we ran into was setting the voltage clamp to the correct setting preventing the map sensor from detecting boost. Once that was done, it worked flawlessly... heck, my tuner showed me how to adjust the fuel trims on my own so that I didn't have to bother him all the time .
Things did get complicated once we added more boost & meth though.
Regarding the Boomslang harness; be sure to purchase Product #BF10005 for the manual tranny. BF10006 is for the auto.
It's plug & play... no reason why the car shouldn't start as settings for the injectors, ignition, & idling are all factory settings detected on the stock ecu... The EMB only bypasses the factory ecu to manipulate certain things. IE: injector size, fuel trim +/-, idle, raising rpm, moving vtec, etc.
It's possible you may need to update the software in the unit? Or, you may have the wrong harness? Or the EMB unit is defective (if purchased used)?
I'd troubleshoot in that same order.
@Rush - you still you have my number?

I'm going to try a spa turbo adjustable fmu first,if the car dont like it then I will do a standalone.
It adjusts base fuel pressure and can adjust the fuel boost rate unlike a plain fmu.
It should help alot for cheap money.
If it does Ill be ready for a run or 2 In a couple of weeks.

Marcelechka thanks for the info on the EMB, nobody in this area wants to mess with it. Figured I would have to learn it for my self. Can you confirm the stock J32A2 injector size? I've found were some say 270cc and others say 310cc, I'm planning to run RDX injectors with the EMB but need to use proper calculation by the base injector trim. Any other info on setup of tuning the EMB would be greatly appreciated.

CL-S / TL-S @ 270cc
RSX-S @ 310cc
RDX @ 410cc (See Rajca's DYI here)
I ran stock injectors with the HBP; although with tune, it ran just fine.
When I ran the custom pulley, we went with Bosch Part: 0280-158-117 rated at 485cc. We modified the injectors to plug & play onto the rail. The EMB allows you to change the injector size, so we were good there. Where the issue lied was, when we started the car with the new configuration, the idle was VERY rough. Reason being, the stock ecu was thinking the stock injectors were plugged in and the EMB doesn't override until it reaches the set voltage (boost). So, instead of clamping it to detect any positive pressure, we set it well below (don't remember what voltage). From there, the EMB was technically running as a primary ecu since the voltage was set really low to override the stock settings from start.
It took a bit to get the various maps all set up along with the throttle positioning response... once done, the power was very linear. Took a whole weekend of street driving to this... constantly pulling over to adjust any & everything... the emanage made it happen though.
At the end of the day, the EMB is a great tool that's been proven to work. Give it a shot if you're capable; worked for me.
Apologies for the thread jacking RP.

RP have you had time to get the FMU installed?
JarrettLauderdale I have a complete 3G set up runners, rails, ect. Just need rdx injectors and plugs.
Marcelechka you are the man! Thank you so much. Will I need to use a 1:1 FPR instead of the Comptech FMU when running the larger injectors and EMB?

All I have to do is the return line .The return port on the adjustable fmu is larger than the return line so I need to wait till tomorrow to get some parts.
where can I get some good high pressure fuel line ?

stock j series pulls from opposite side. it hits the blower case. also, iacv would be almost impossible because how big the port is and how close it is to the stock intake manifold.
i picked up a b-series throttle body today. ill work on getting it finished up tomorrow.

Well guys,my engine has seen better days.
It got hurt about a month ago and havent had to much time to get into it.
Got noise high in the lower end and compression went from 240psi in each cylinder to
210 in 4 and 130 and 110 in the other 2 in 8500 miles.
Ran car just motor, then nitrous, then motor, back to nitrous, then supercharged 4,6,8psi no tune ever. All was good until I put stock exhaust on.
Car didnt last a week after that.
8500 miles no tune and always killing it,not to bad.
8500 sounds short but that's 4yrs + of abuse.
So im at rebuilding for even more power or just giving up on it.
Thoughts ?

You ran this thing with no tune? I guess I don't ever remember you installing an aftermarket EMS, but now that I consider what this is powering, it sounds crazy! And here I am worrying that my high-compression J35A3 build isn't going to run on the stock ECU.

RP hate to hear about the engine taking a dump on you, sounds like it could be broken ringlands. Roots super chargers produce a lot of heat, big free flowing exhaust is a must along with a rich AFR under boost. Tear it down and see how bad it is, worst case just drop a J35A3 in it for $300 and beat it up on the cheap, you have come this far why stop now.

i used oem pulley. have to route the power steering pump drain line in between belt. i think mine was a 66". i cant remember and it broke so i dont have it anymore. guess ill figure it out when i put it back on soon!
