WHP rating for '06 6MT??

Please refresh my memory, what is our accepted figure for wheel horse power on a 06 6MT TL?

I've got 230 in my head, but I can't remember if that figure is for the 5AT
Thanks

Basic Automotive 101 buddy,

1. Power to weight ratio
2. Gearing ratio (Also, automatic vs manual) (LSD vs Non LSD differential)
3. Force induction vs N/A.
4. Drive terrain power % loss (fwd, AWD, Rwd)

Just because the base 6MT has less power, doesn't mean it's slower than a type-s Automatic.

For example:
There are plenty of 2.0 Turbo cars that on paper put down less power than the 3rd gen but would perform better on a 1/4 run.

Faster? Yes. More powerful? No.
The quickness of the Sport is due to the extra gear laying down the power. And also the LSD differential.

sayitainttom faster because the power to weight ratio and the close gearing in the MT. AT has about 125 lbs heavier than MT, beside within the first 3 gear its almost the same for AT and MT until you hit that ugly 4th gear in AT and sweet pull in MT 4th gear. If you wind out third gear the MT RPM will drop about 1.5k meanwhile the AT drop ~ 2.5k, its take more than power to consider to be "faster" number isn't the absolute answer.

AT Type S (not mine lol)

MT Base look at the RPM drop when shift into 4th.

AT Type S vs MT Base and you should know why.

The automatic Type-S also has the LSD. It's the weight difference and the better gearing of the 6MT base that makes it a bit quicker, not necessarily the extra cog.

OP, a stock base 04-06 6MT is usually around 220 whp SAE on a Dynojet.

220 to 230WHP would be an acceptable range.

I dyno'd at 230WHP with just a RV6 Exhaust, stock 3rd cat in place and stock J-pipe.

But we all know that the 04 TL has 270HP , LOL .

Dynos mean nothing if there is no baseline run to compare it to. We all know dynos don't exactly read accurately.

Eh don't get hung up on the numbers. I ran my TL and my Integra on a "measuring stick" that plenty of other Honda and Acura cars have run on, like I_love_cars beast of a TL-S. I am only providing some runs from a dyno of my relatively stock TL, to cite the ~220WHP to ~230WHP numbers.

Just as a comparision:
........6MT...5 A/T....'07 5A/T
1st - 3.93...2.563...2.70
2nd -2.48...1.552...1.61
3rd - 1.70...1.021...1.07
4th - 1.25......666.....69
5th - 0.98......480.....49
6th - 0.77
Final drive - 3.293..4.428..4.31

However the overall ration
1st -12.84/11.358/11.647
2nd- 8.17/6.87/6.94
3rd - 5.59/4.52/4.61
4th - 4.12/2.95/2.97
5th - 3.23/2.13/2.11
6th - 2.54

As you can see the M/T has quite a lower overall ratio in each gear selected for more grunt.

From a different thread, I don't know about the 07 5AT TL ratio change, but look at the difference!

Oh wow I didn't know they squeezed an LSD into the new AT. Does this include base 07/08?

I checked Acura OEM parts and I don't think think the 5AT TL-s had an LSD. The auto looks like a standard "open" diff.
