Nice update! I think the updated cluster style is much better than the 04-06s...

EBay has clusters they usually go for 100, the bezel is 60 from Acura brand new but you don't have to get the bezel--only if you want the silver rings around the gauges

The mileage info is all saved in a separate computer/ in the PCM right? So swapping clusters doesn't require a trip to the dealer for mileage programming?

I probably wont ever do a type-s swap because I really like my 2008 cluster (I love the blue). I am just curious lol.

I love that you did both the cluster AND that separate display, it looks awesome!

unfortunately the mileage info is saved in the cluster. My stock cluster was at 135, this type-s cluster has 140. The oil life is saved separately so I assume the maintenance intervals is saved there as well.

If I were you I'd just pick up the TL-S outer bezel with the rings-- it's direct drop in!

I think that color is called Bold Beige Metallic, and was only offered on 2008 base models.

Personally I like the Desert Mist a lot better, though I'm not sure I've ever actually seen the bold beige in person lol.

Cool to see the two side by side like that!

well..i thought i was done with doing tl-s stuff but i found some TL-S headlights for a super cheap price and pulled the trigger. Just need to polish these babies, find 06-08 ballast and modify the socket on the tl-s corner light and good to go!

installed the TL-S Lights

Desert Mist TL Build-bgtssr9.jpg
Desert Mist TL Build-onrhvm9.jpg

04-05 use a bigger ballast that wont fit on the TL-S headlight, so I had to pick up (2) ballasts with the "W3T19371" part number. 06-08 use this slimmer ballast.

I used Silva95Teg's tip to convert my OEM parking light to fit inside the TL-S stripped out oem socket. Basically use the stock tl-s socket as a sleeve.

https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...s-base-814655/

My DRLs arent wired, they just act as fogs like normal but I understand they melt the housing so I wont be using them as fogs but will make a DRL harness to run them at low wattage as usual.

About 200, but if you paint all together I'm sure they can do $350

good stuff man, TL is looking real clean keep up the work on it!! I thought about changing the cluster gauge but thought they only came in red for some weird reason lol and true every time i see this color way on the streets it's usually some old woman LOL. I've rarely seen the green lurking around too.

everything works!

this is the only thing that shows when i start the car. other than that, nothing different form my old stock cluster!
was the cluster gauge a perfect fit when you switched it out?

the cluster gauge was a perfect fit BUT you have to open the clear bezel and apply tape on the low pressure warning and the airbag warning light . Easy.

installed some DEPO fog lights with Nokya Yellow Bulbs. I've been using nokyas on my cars since 2007, never an issue and last quite a while.

It you don't mind me asking, how where you able to clear that airbag sensor light? Is it dangerous if it stays on? (I really don't mind the sensor light being on I just want to know if it is safe)

Reading other threads it's just the cluster that is getting incorrect signals from the SRS, but the SRS unit is working.

Taken from another thread

"For and 04-06 TL (UA6), Of course you will need to replace the SRS unit with an 07/08 (UA7) SRS unit and move 3 pins, and you will need to replace the OPDS brain in the passenger seat. The UA6 HELM ETM calls the ODS brain the ODS unit. But the UA7 HELM ETM calls the brain OPDS unit. The UA6 and UA7 HELM ETM call the OPDS sensors by the same name. The sensors in the seat talks to the OPDS/ODS, and the OPDS/ODS talks to the SRS unit. And the SRS unit talks to everything. Which is why there are many pins on the SRS unit. So LABEL every wire before you cut! Be prepared, and by some cable labels from FRY’s or somewhere. I uses silver duct tape and scotch tape. That wasn’t the best choice. Frys has real cable labels. (And you definitely need some kind of labeling system for any splicing that I mention below. But you may not have to splice if you get a nice quality passenger seat to replace the one you have. Read on below.)

Nice updates!

Did you have to cut-to-fit the Type S front grille? I thought I read here on AZ the Type S is taller and has to be trimmed down or a section in the middle has to be cut out? Assuming I remembered that correctly, would that mean the dark chrome hood and front grille trims are going to require cutting too?

Can't wait to see the next updates! I love the progress, your TL is a one of a kind!

the type-s is taller but only the middle section which can be cut. I followed this guide.
https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-06-tl-817615/
I didnt end up epoxying any of it together. Kind of just attached it to the bumper and called it a day.

The hood piece will fit but the V-grille can't since it's taller then the 04-06.

I just got chrome hood and v-grille off ebay to try it out.

im also playing around with this f1 rear brake light. not sure if i like it, just mocked it up
