Funny, Quebec isn't a thing of their own either, according to the 93/94 referendum...
and by "national" holiday, you actually mean "provincial" holiday, as I don't forsee Quebec seperating anytime soon.
Which makes me wonder- I can understand Quebec wanting to distance itself from the rest of the country, but have they logistically thought about it? Do they have enough industry/money to sustain themselves? The infrastructure repairs montreal requires alone could probably bankrupt the province. Plus, isn't there more and more english speaking people in Quebec as the years go by- I know the more remote regions hate english speakers guts, but what about the rest?
Not sure how true it is, but I could swear I remember hearing around the time of the referendum that Quebec expected to fully be seperate from Canada, but Canada would still have to fork over money to the Quebec. W.T.Tabernak?

Good one good one.Realistically, I don't think it will happen any time soon. There is/was a logistical plan to do this back in the day. Regarding infrastructure repairs... it is paid by the province. We are ranked 2nd in GDP (also 2nd in GDP share) in Canada, believe me we could well be autonomous.
Also it's called National Holiday, hence why I used that. It is provincial only though, but you know, Quebecers are a nation of their own. We be speshiul.
For the record, Quebecers don't hate English speakers guts. We despise people who live here and don't do any effort to learn a modicum of French.
We also do not thoroughly enjoy immigrants who get accepted in Quebec by Canada itself and because they feel like they owe Canada something they keep voting liberal. It's a known political strategy and every once in a while you'll hear that they want to take in 50,000 more immigrants to "help the economy". 50,000 people is nothing over the population of 8 million... it's not going to change shit to economy but it will sure help lock in the vote for the liberals when it's so close.
On the other hand, big companies such as Bombardier have to let go 3,000 employees not later than last month. Makes no sense to flood the market with new immigrant employees when people here are losing their job...
ANYWAY, enough polotics
yeah Anil is a good guy, I've never even meet the sucka but I was thinking about going to National Meat and he was more than willing to pick me up from airport and figure all that stuff out... Him and Steven Bell are close friends and I know sometimes J and Anil get into some heated arguments, I think they're all good people
Just dropping in to say hey! Off work using vacation time, so I've been busy. I've got my daughter and son over spending some much needed time with them. Hope life is treating y'all well and everything is good!

Good to hear from you Jamie!! Figured you were dead :P
Also wow, the irony is dickslapping Chad so hard in the face, it's probably why he can't see it..

"Anyone that doesn't agree with me is argumentative and petty". There's another idiot on this forum with the same name, what's up with that name?!?

You guys call it something like "bon fete" day, don't you?
Like I said, I can understand why separate want to leave the rest of Canada. I didn't realize Quebec was in good shape- I thought it was more like Ontario, with half of that province now residing here due to jobs (lol). It would be shitty if the separation happened- people would need a passport to go from east Canada to west. How retarded would that be. I could see a bit of a logistical nightmare occurring with having a completely independent country right in the middle.
either way, Gilles is back again- I wonder if he will be able to rebuild the party after Iit was decimated with him at the helm. Fuck, if we lose Quebec, we would lose 7/8ths of any culture this country has

It would be beneficial to the world if they were indeed the same, that meant there's one less stupid in the world than expected
But alas, I doubt that's the case.

It isn't in a bad shape financially compared to other provinces but it's ran like a fucking crackhouse (and separating is supposed to fix that on the long term).
Separating now doesn't sound like a good idea to me because of the financial crisis north america has been through not long ago. Everything in due time.

Regarding culture, I think every province brings something to the rest of Canada no matter the love/hate relationship we might have. What always made Canada economically strong was its diversity.
Saint-Jean Baptiste day or Fete Nationale. Not sure about the bon fête thing

I don't see Canada being all that economically strong. Look at our dollar. Weak as hell. But there's parts of the country that bring little or nothing to the table. Get rid of the Maritime provinces, the Territories, and Manitoba and now we're talkin'
What do you 'muricans have planned for the 4th of July? Anything good?
That's what it was- Fete Nationale, lol.
