Maybe there is hope with K-tuner ?

"Already have testers using a beta with limited support. Posted a poll on the 4G TL Facebook group and only two people voted in favor of having a tuning solution. They don't seem to care as much as you think."

Got an update from K-tuner:

There's two testers currently, an AT and an MT. One is already being e-tuned and it's going well. The second may have started that process as well. Honda did change ECU manufacturer's and processors, but an initial release with the ability to tune fuel, ignition, various settings, with full datalogging capability is already up and running. Sensor disables and speed limiter removal probably won't come for a while down the road, but that is not required to tune the setup when you have things like defoulers available. i.e Tuning these is not a problem. Release is imminent and no deposits need to be taken. As long as people understand what I've said above and don't expect more than what is included at the initial release.

look here. Hondata is not working on 4G TL anytime soon. Only solution at the moment is K-tuner :

Couple questions..

Is this the Flashpro for the 4G? And is there one for every 4G TL (fwd and sh-awd)? What is the cost? When it is up on your site add a link, cant wait to buy myself one!

It's not nearly as complete as the Flashpro but as for now, this is the only solution.

At this point it isn't a complete FlashPro unit competitor but once all the features are unlocked it will be very comparable. As I stated in my first post on the Ktuner thread, the only thing Ktuner won't have that FlashPro does is Bluetooth support.

But please EVERYONE go to the Ktuner thread if you have questions/comments about it.

The thing I hate most about the automatic 12-14 TLs, is the shift from 1st to 2nd. It happens WAY too quick.. Would I be able to modify this with the k-tuner?

Also pissed I had to give away my Takeda intake because the car drove better with the factory air box. Maybe remapping the ECU would justify buying a short ram again?? Miss that intake growl

You would need to fix the MAF curve. Every intake we've seen for this platform has an incorrectly sized MAF housing.

XLR8 still thinking about making an intake with the correct MAF housing? Maybe team up with KTuner to maximize HP/TQ gains?

Maybe need a tester in Ohio? LOL

It's not a Flashpro but it basically does the same thing (you are going to use it to optimize your air-fuel curves). We've sent a couple off from Heeltoe already, people seem pretty pleased!

We worked with Ktuner to make sure there were maps for a couple intakes. From what we were told, the Takeda actually produced a couple more horsepower than the Ice Box. There's a basemap for the stock intake as well. I'm not certain if the maps account for different MAF housings.

The Ktuner is not the same as the Flashpro, although it provides similar ECU map tuning and customization. This is currently the only ECU tuning kit for the 4G TL on the market. There is one for both the FWD and AWD TL.

The pricing is $499 shipped to the continental 48 U.S. with the exception of sales tax if purchased or shipped within the state of Connecticut. We have the Ktuners in stock and are ready to ship them out.

There is one base tune for the initial release. It does not account for intakes with poorly designed MAF housings. For those getting custom tuning this does not matter. For those that just want to flash and go certain intakes will throw fueling off and can create adverse effects as the ECU tries to compensate. The tune is conservative for this reason. We will likely have tunes that compensate for improper MAF sizing once we've collected more data for these intakes.

Alright! So once more data has come in on different intakes, you guys will load preset tunes for these intakes? I heard that the icebox is no longer in production, so I will probably pick up the Takeda SRI again. Once the tuner come out with a preset optimized for use with the Takeda, I will definitely pull the trigger the tuner.

Keep us updated. Thanks!

I'm going to verify that multiple CT-e Iceboxes all run the same and multiple Takedas all run the same before putting a tune out for them, but that is definitely the plan.

I was misinformed in my previous post, as the Ktuner end-user kit currently only comes with a conservative tune to get you on the road. The intake maps will take more time as mentioned above. You can always get a custom tune for your specific setup instead of waiting for the maps to be made.
